The original meaning of anime is that it's just a Japanese shorthand for all animation. It's like how we shorten tokusatsu to toku a lot, it's easier to say and spell. In English, it's a borrowed word with a different meaning that's not clearly defined. Usually referring to a "Japanese" animation style, but there's no real defining line anyone agrees on. That said, most do agree shows like Avatar and Teen Titans are not animes.

But the difference is that we don't treat "Toku" and "Tokusatsu" as 2 entirely different classifications.
I'm generally playing devil's advocate because I classify "Anime" and "Western Animation" as different (And so I can parade around saying I hate anime ![]() ![]()

So in short everything is Anime because it's short for Animation.

In JAPAN "anime" is used as the same thing. EVERWHERE ELSE "anime" has a different meaning. I just said that. That's where the problem defining it comes from.

Tamers.
And there are a few examples of Anime that I like. But I honestly don't think you'd need more than 2 hands to count them all.

Anyway, Gurren Lagann episodes 4 and 5: They were pretty good. The "Black Siblings" showed up, and I must say...Kinon is freaking cute. It was interesting to see someone almost as crazy and loud as Kamina. Episode 5...it was interesting to see that there's a group of people who worship Gunmen, and we got another Team Gurren member; Rossiu. EDIT: Episode 6... I AM KAMINA...KING OF THE ROCK! Yeah, it was just filler more or less.

Did you watch the clip show version or the uncut version? Because the latter is the hilariously good kind of filler.
