For once we agree. This show was a HUGELY successful marketing vehicle. To say that it ruined Sentai at all is just false. It was critically acclaimed by most fans and the toys produced sold very well, even the $500 Itasha Robo.

Basically, if you want a Sentai figuart from a past series, your best bet is to pray that they're involved with Akibaranger.

Still need to watch Season 1, though...

Not really. The show was aimed at a completely different target audience and was obviously a huge hit with it. Given how Go-Busters has been faring for the last year do you really consider more Akibaranger to be the thing giving Super Sentai a black eye?

i do, regardless of the fact i am the minority. given the fact that sentai seems to go on an up and down rollercoaster with every other series or so being less popular, are you surprised gobusters isnt doing the best?

That's not true. Abaranger and Dekaranger were both quite popular, and they aired back to back. Also, Goseiger had slightly better overall ratings than Gokaiger.

This is true. An incredibly loud minority says that Goseiger is the worst thing that's ever happend to Sentai but it actually enjoyed really good ratings and is a great show.

Akibaranger is no different. A minority disliked it for one reason or another, usually because they missed the entire point of the show, but it actually was ridiculously successful.
