I feel that actually adds to his design, sure they look like christmas lights but that's not exactly out of place in an Electric Pokemon.

Also I love Mega Mawille even more now.

Just because there's a reasoning behind the design choice doesn't necessarily make it a good design choice. Ampharos had ditched the sheep theme and went with "Lighthouse." It's now removed that to re-add the sheep designs, making it muddied and cluttered.

However, considering MegaBlaziken is now king of "Trying too hard" I guess I can't complain over Amphabio's design choices.

And I'm pretty sure Gamefreak forgot Farfetch'd is even a thing at this point.

Well the lightbulbs have been a staple in all of Mareep forms so it doesn't really bother me, and I always found it stupid that Ampharos lacked wool, so Mega at least improves on that front. But I can see why it doesn't work for you.

Yeah MegaBlaziken is perfectly summed up as "trying to hard" alongside Lucario.

If MegaLucario didn't have those odd reddish-brown patches and dreadlocks, I'd like it.

I know the Mareep family had the lightbulbs on their designs, but Ampharos had left the sheep design behind. I'm not excusing it (I was never a big fan of the original Ampharos design, either), but it's what they chose.

I'm on the fence on whether I think MegaLucario is trying too hard or just ugly. I'm not sure, yet.

And I want a MegaMilotic...But I know that's not gonna happen. *Sighs*

The rust colored patches are gaudy, and the dreadlocks should be toned down.
However, I actually think it's the random black striping that's it's downfall. They clash with the rust patches and make the design too active. They should have stuck with one of the colors (Either black or reddish-brown), and downsized on the dreadlocks, and I'm sure the design would be a lot better.

I don't hate Mega Pokemon's designs and translate better from 2D drawing to 3D polygonal model then I thought.
