Yeah, Matrix is quickly becoming notorious for doing this.

Just like how no one can tell Superman is Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne is Batman, Usagi is Sailor freaking Moon, etc.

Well, just watched episode 29. Wow, that had so much mood whiplash over what happened the last episode it hurt.
EDIT: Also watched 30. Same thing. A bit too silly for my tastes. I did find some bits humorous between the two episodes though, and the scenes that actually advanced the plot were quite nice, but overall, just dropping the Mutsuki plot for these two episodes bugged me, and it would've definitely pissed me off if I had to wait 3 weeks just to get back to it (And, while I love the design, the way that Garren gets his Jack Form felt kind of forced. The package comes in with the Rouser Absorber and Hajime runs in and just gives Garren his Absorb Queen card, and that's another point of contention, making this episode unskippable because it has one important plot occurrence). So yeah. Goofy, fun episodes are fine in my opinion, but just don't shove it into a story arc that's still going (I think I wouldn't be complaining as much if the Mutsuki/Spider Undead story arc was resolved before these episodes). Anyway, this scene made me burst out laughing, so that's a plus. ![]() http://gyazo.com/450a0fe09b4b2d8405e90b5a8c0d4d4c

Yeah, those two are weird. Ryuki and Kabuto did the same thing with a pair of really weird, silly episodes around the episode 30 mark. I actually kind of love these episodes because of how totally crazy they are (also because the chick playing fake Hajime's girlfriend is really cute). You're at the point where the show really kicks into high gear, though. Episode 31 brings in the new opening theme and everything starts getting epic.

The only thing I can really compliment in those episodes was seeing Hajime's actor spazzing around. That was great

Just started watching Fourze. And Gentaro was really annoying for the first half-episode hew as in, but quickly grew on me. I mean the Fourze suit and abilities aren't made to be used by someone who takes everything so seriously. It's a goofy design, with alot of goofy switches, so you need a goofy guy to pilot it. I like it.

So I just watched episodes 21-27 of Hibiki and I have to say those were the coolest episodes of the series thus far, especially the one where all three of the Onis were using the drums. This show is finally starting to actually get good. I do not understand why the guy in black is now wearing white though, but I'm sure they will explain it soon.
EDIT FOURZE SPOILERS INCLUDED: Well we just finished the last four episodes of Fourze and wow, what a great series the show turned out to be. The series as a whole had a rough start for me, but after two episodes, I was hooked. The monster designs were excellent, especially those belonging to Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius. The characters were well done, ableit not as developed as I would have liked. I really think Daimonji and Miu should have left the show after they graduated because their stories were finished and they really didn't do too much afterwards, but other than that, I have no complaints on the main cast. My biggest complaint though would be the lack of development on the villains side. For such strong and intimidating villains, they didn't do anything to make us care for them at all. I think my other complaint was there was no danger of any of the students actually dying, just getting injured. I would have liked to have seen what would have happened had one of the students actually died from using a Zodiart Switch. Nevertheless, unlike the other show that began airing during Fourze's run, at least the Zodiarts in general felt like an actual threat. I think my final complaint is that it was just predictable. I guessed who everyone was episodes before they even revealed themselves. The only one that took me by surprise was Tachibana's identity, but other than that, I could tell you who was whom when it came to the main Horoscopes. Nevertheless, the story of the show as extremely well done, the action was fantastic to watch, the switches actually played their gimmicks well and there were some really cool combos done throughout the show (albeit spread out at times). And finally, the ending was great. Except for ignoring those that were "sent" into the Dark Nebula subplot that seemed to be forgotten after Virgo revealed where they really were, I have no complaints. In fact, it is hard to believe Toei has managed to pull off three Rider shows in a row without an ending that feels lackluster or half-assed. With that said, I look forward to see what they can pull off in Wizard, and I look forward to more cameos from Foundation X because they did not have enough screen time in Fourze (in fact, not including the movie, their one shot cameo seemed forced in and pointless since nothing became of it). With that said, "SPACE IS AWESOME!!" Wait, maybe it's "IT'S SPACE TIIIIIIIIME!!" . Last edited by Dr Kain; 08-27-2012 at 09:39 PM.. |
