We all know the collectible gimmick is here to stay (Go-Busters cemented this) but I'm curious, what if older Riders or Sentai teams were made today? How would they or how could they incorporate a collectible gimmick into the toyline?

And before you ask, yes there are early Heisei series without gimmicks like Gingaman or Fiveman. I said Showa in the title because it gives a basic idea of what I'm talking about: the belts just transform you and the mecha just combine.

A collectible gimmick...I don't know much about showa sentai so I'll stick with rider.

I know Riderman would have different arm changes, a bit like the Fourze module series. Maybe the same with Super-1. The latter could even sell DX Gloves for different modes.

The rest are harder to come up with, not much interchangeability there to help a gimmick series.

I'm not sure how to make the Showa Rider more Heisei. The only one I think MIGHT work is Amazon since he lives in the jungle.

Perhaps survival gear could be his gimmick while he still beats the crap out monsters with his claws and fangs.

For JAKQ you could do a collectable deck of cards. And big one would be one Joker and the whole team will be the other. Lower numbers 1- 6 could be foot soldiers/MotW. 7 & 8 can be generals. 10 can be shots of big one and the face cards will be the Rangers. Collect them all for a unique super sentai playing deck of cards
