One of my favorite episodes was them getting the Mega Voyager while the Galaxy Mega had to hold out in a struggle against a superior monster. It was tense to see Kubota and the crew fighting for as long as they could.

Prino take in mind that Kouichiro is still a teen and really he tries to do his best in everything, and from personally experience low grades are very discouraging, and it just goes in flow with the theme of growing up.
I think the real fun of Mega comes in the cast and their actions and the scenarios they have to go through in the episodes, some silly but some pretty serious, Mega's charm comes from it's simplicity, the cast and their chemistry, growing into warriors and themes of maturity and growing up as well. But the last 10 episodes breaks the formula and goes crazy. And it's also like a calming down factor after the insanity of Carranger haha. Also I personallyI thought In Space was overrated, it's basically that one unstoppable season in the fan base besides RPM. It was pretty good, but I felt that the following Lost Galaxy was more enjoyable and did some of the space idea even better tbh. And I've seen people who don't enjoy Mega much mainly because they go in with the IS bias, which I think shouldn't happen for any PR/Sentai season you see honestly.

In Space is the end of the original story, which is why it is highly praised. Hell, that is one of the reasons it is my favorite season of PR. It gave me Zedd, the machine empire, AND introduced Astronema.
Lost Galaxy was lost on me. There was nothing Lost Galaxy about it until the last 6 of 8 episodes, if even that. |

I think the first few episodes of lost galaxy did have something to do with the name, since they went on the terra venture (Forgive me if I get the name wrong. Havent seen the series in years) and mike ended up dying (allegedly), but yeah, after that, it had nothing to do with being a "lost galaxy" until the end game. Because of how its played out, it ended up being an In Space 2.0, but it didnt do as well as In Space to me.

Really, you have to look at In Space for what all it did and how large of a leap it was in comparison to the other seasons. The scope and scale were larger and the stakes were higher. It's easy to see why so many people loved it.
The season I saw as overrated was Zeo. What a piece of trash that series was... Lost Galaxy fell flat for me because it had almost nothing to do with space. Almost every battle was fought on the ground in Terra Venture, you never got a space vibe since most normal scenes were, once again, just standing on normal land, and the dome projected a permanent sky.

Well that was because In Space was going to be the final power rangers, so of course they're gonna go all out. They did the same to RPM and people love RPM (even though I still think RPM is alright at best). Zeo has its moments, but I do agree, it is overrated. Its especially overrated because Jason came back.

I know why they went all out with In Space. I'm just saying that it worked. It made the tension real, it piqued my interest. I was enjoying about 80% of what I saw (Them trying to get Andros into high school just to reuse the same sets kind of sucked shit, but otherwise, it was nice~).
But for Lost Galaxy, I felt they just kept tripping over and over because they kept forgetting whether they were a space series or a mystical one (Terra Venture, an artificial space colony, has the ancient Galactabeasts resting in it? Did they just excavate 3000 square acres of land and chuck it into space?)

Lost Galaxy was just trying to milk its success off of In Space. That's why Lost Galaxy kinda failed for me. It also didn't help that the Gingaman footage that they used didn't make much sense at all.
