Like most Kamen Riders, they would end up lose their confidence on themselves and begins doubting themselves after what happened to them.
Think like when Kouta lost his confidence when he learned he killed his friend and spend most of his time in the episode as an empty shell who doesn’t know what to do next. or When Sento killing one of Grease’s goons and like Kouta, he spend most of his screen time as a broken man who felt guilt for killing a person and he was just.... broken So if you are a Kamen Rider who lost confidence on yourself for either unable to save your loved one or unintentionally killing a person, what would you do to regain your confidence on yourself? |

Well I’m doing a fanfiction where my hero loses his confidence after his split personality snaps and almost kills his friends. So I have him work it out by creating a duplicate of himself inhabited by the alter ego and having the two fight it out, with the end result being that they come to an understanding and agree to prevent it from happening again (and they get a strategy to defeat the latest bad guy of the week).

I'll remind myself that... There's only one person who can stop you, and that's me!

Very edgy, yes, but I do feel it would've turn out like that. |

Like TheRaizin said, I don't think I'd ever completely get my confidence back, but eventually I'd have to realize that giving up isn't an option. The most likely scenario would probably be a monster attacking and me seeing someone who will die if I do nothing. With the choice of "stand there and let someone die" or "take action and save a life" literally there in front of me, I'd definitely be spurred back into action. Even if my faith is shaken and I know I can't save everyone, saving as many as I can is still better than saving no one.
