Why differentiate between the two? Aren't the suits always the characters with Toku? Unless you take in other sources like manga or a special artistic interpretation.
The organic part is true but - skins have folds too and while different, I would assume a flexible exoskeleton has them as well. And they might look conveniently a lot like bent rubber |

True but I like that it adds a touch of realism to it all. Sure, zippers and duct tape for example shouldn't end up as a part of the character, but stuff like folds and crevices I can live with.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with it, just thought it was interesting.

Low-key makes me want some sort of SS Blade "Ver. ZI-O" where it has the yellowed helmet and purple stomach.

Gorgeous figure. It really makes me wonder how figures can get better.

Pre-orders open Friday, November 6th in Japan.
A bit more info since there's a lot: First of all, a blog post with lots of pretty pictures but also quite a few new info. http://tamashiinations.blog.jp/archives/7247571.html The most important: This will be the first figure to incorporate "soft" material to help keep the proportion intact as well as reproducing the "biological feeling" of the original suit. It is described as a step in figure development like Wizard's skirt or Kiva's chains. Here's an overview about which parts are soft and how it works with articulation: Next, this figure incorporates three different instances of black color. Glossy for the head and shoulders, mat with a rough texture for the chest, and semi-matte for the limbs to invoke a leather-type look. Then we have a direct comparison between all three releases of Kamen Rider Black to really drive the point home. Lastly there's a Shadow Moon teaser. Now, the figure in the picture is the 2011 version, and they say they are "undecided" on a Seihou version yet but come on, we all know it’s going to happen. And, if you're interested, Tamashii also posted an interview with Masato Hayase, an assistant to Shotaro Ishinomori who began his career when Kamen Rider Black was developed and became a material manager on Kuuga, then was in charge of character design and supervision on Agito. https://tamashii.jp/t_kokkaku/141/ |

While I'm not gonna get the SHF SS KR Black figure, I'm super fucking impressed with the engineering behind it with the incorporation of soft parts like that. Usually that sort of thing is reserved for really, really high-end KR figures from what I've seen, and it's different from the usual "soft" plastic that SHFs use. Wonder if they'll start incorporating this sort of engineering in future SHF releases.

But now we have a Son-Goku figure coming up which is partially seamless as well as Kamen Rider Black who uses soft parts to further achieve suit accuracy. I quite like applying these techniques to certain key areas while leaving others that are perfectly fine as is, like the knees, in the traditional style. It'll be interesting to see where this leads to eventually. |

Interestingly enough a fully seamless SHF body concept was shown 4 years ago, but never developed into a figure.
