Amazing, amazing episode. We not only have some crazy serious traumatic backstory in the form of a surprise reveal that adds more depth to both Keiwa and his sister, but we also get the payoff for the whole "some Buckles are more compatible with some ID Cores, but it's up to the user to bring out their true power." Looks like all the Raise Buckles have some kind of sentience, not just Boost.
Really like how Geats called Keiwa out for being a hypocrite when it comes to him being willing to sacrifice others' happiness. Keiwa sacrificed himself in the end to protect the world and his sister by being the bait and proved Geats wrong. Brilliant stuff. Also loved the dynamic jumping transformation with Ninja Boost. I thought that the armor could only be equipped from the sides, but it looks like that's not the case. |

I wasn't expecting this last boss round to continue for 3 episodes, considering how Geats managed to finish the Fortress Jyamato in only one episode. I guess this shows how the Knight Jyamato is much stronger. But now we know the final episode of a DGP arc ends in "F", as in "Finale", which is pretty convenient way of marking progress in the episode titles. Remember when Riderwiki thought the Roman numerals were pronounced as letters a few weeks ago? They're always a source of unintentional comedy.
Kudos to Na-Go, using her Kick The Can training in the lounge to be the one who completes the main objective! Quote:

So I'm glad this episode takes the time to shine a light on his flaws, teaching him that just cause he strives to be a hero who elevates others doesn't mean it's fair for him to expect that same heroism of others. True heroes lead by example, not by preaching, which is where Keiwa failed here. But he made up for it by reverting to his previous self, drawing the Jyamato's aggro and relying only on his own motivation to save Sara. While successful, his action ultimately worsens his injuries and gets him eliminated from the game, but the basis of his desire, people's happiness, is something more easily granted by those acts of self-sacrificing heroism. World peace is impossible without unacceptable sacrifice, but the little happiness is worth fighting for. He doesn't need to win the DGP, cause his desire is granted by helping to grant the desires of those who deserve them. Maybe Ace's Desire Card says something like, "Renew qualifications for all retired Riders."

Well, the episode is really awesome. In addition to the wonderful action, it also confirms my theory that the DGP was intended to be more team-oriented and only the greed and competition of the riders prevents it from being so. And they really overdo it, because, in the same Ruyuki with a similar award, even the scumbag Asakura sometimes agreed to team-ups. Therefore, the buckles themselves fly into Keiwa's hands, because, with all his experience, did Gits really not know how to convince the Magnums to return to him?
By the way, about experience. If Keiva's parents didn't resurrect, that means the riders lost to the DGP. But what about the undefeated Geats then? I have four options: a) One of Ace's many wishes was to take a break from the game and it was an unfortunate coincidence; b) The words about the first year of our era are false, and his mother just gave him a rare coin as a keepsake. Because of the gift, Ace became fascinated with history, hence his knowledge of the past. c) Keiva's parents were DGP riders and died in action. d) DGP stuff cheat and resurrect most but not all victims. |

Seems kind of game-breaking though, if the Raise Buckle you just won in a secret mission can decide of its own will to go and help a different Rider instead. I mean, to use a battle royale analogy here, wouldn't that suck if you were playing Warzone and the gun you bought with your points flew in to the arms of an enemy, who promptly used it to kill you? I guess it's a good thing that DGP discourages friendly fire.
Not if the main point of the game is to defeat Jamato. Then you need riders in their most powerful form, and therefore it's like in a DnD campaign to give the found item to a partner whose character it suits better. It's just that local riders don't understand that their goal is to defeat Jamato, and fulfilling a wish is a reward. |

We know Ace is inherently a good person, but he still places winning over anything else. Even if he does the right thing, as long as he feels that his victory is more important than all else, then I don't think Magnum will actively reject all other uses to choose him. Also, we do know that the Riders have lost before, since it was established that the last time this monster appeared, it won and a chunk of the populous wasn't revived as a result. (Granted, I don't think that was the case concerning Keiwa's parents. Since they would have used this opportunity to establish that it was the same monster, rather than just some goons that did the killing) Anyway, Ninja and Boost is insane, and it's cool. I'm curious as to how they'll bring Keiwa back, as well as whether Sara will keep her memories (Since she should technically lose them once this round ends, but if Keiwa is reestablished as a rider, then touching his buckle should bring them back again, right?)

I think this is the most plausible out of the four theories you presented.

Even though the Riders have a mutual objective in defeating Jyamato, they're still in conflict for their individual desires. Geats actively pursuing a secret mission to obtain a Raise Buckle would become a liability to him if there's the risk of it helping a rival gain an advantage in the game. I'm just curious how much imbalance there might be in the system that could potentially screw players who take risks for higher rewards.

I'd say, one of the most unexpected decision done in Geats so far to me, the secondary Rider being eliminated this early.
There's less of the other Riders' addressing/talking about Ace's previous behavior than what I anticipated, even for Keiwa himself. Everyone's now too focused on their wishes or for Keiwa, saving Sara. No time for anything other than fighting final boss though, but Keiwa now expects Ace to accept the team up, albeit he doesn't have much choice. He's also still friendly to him at the end, albeit he thinks Ace is still lying. The reveal of something regarding the Sakurais is something rather simple and.. basic of their parents being killed by the Jamatos, but this now reveals something more regarding DGP, both mechanics and questions, that touching an ID core makes the person regain their DGP memories, and there's something odd that the DGP didn't bring back the Sakurai parents. In this episode, Sara's the damsel in distress, but now Sara learned 2 shocking revelations in her life that her parents didn't die by accident and Keiwa's a Kamen Rider.. and amazing adult at this point. Dunno how'd she process that next or it'd be forgotten again. Being a Yuya Takahashi series, now he made a scene reminiscent of Emu asking others to team-up at the beginning. Keiwa previously has shown to be someone who insists the DGP to be used to protect the world from Jamatos, as well as having lack of understanding to people's strong convictions, and here Keiwa's inadvertently self-righteous, but is still consistent in making use of those traits. Protecting the world is still, his personal expectation, not DGP's, and here his attempts come off as forcefully bending them to his will, with no regard to their own individuality. Even if Michinaga's a scumbag who wants to take out his anger via the wish, two wrongs don't make a right. For that, now Ace's the one that holds the higher moral ground to Keiwa, after his darkest reveal yet previously. Doesn't erase what he did previously, but this also reaffirms that though he can be ruthless, he has standards and isn't a bad person overall by that. Usually other good jerk Riders display that by calling out others they feel are doing worse too (like Ren to Kitaoka in Ryuki). What Ace did is rather similar to his usual previous, to insist others grinding for what they want, but due to Keiwa's escalating trait to self-righteous territory, now Ace also had called Keiwa entitled here. Otherwise, Ace also now crosses into cynical territory for his realist views to not believe that kind of selflessness exists, but proven wrong later. There's more rift between Keiwa and Neon as well, after Neon was the Rider who Keiwa never criticized before, as now Keiwa calls her out for her prioritizing her wish that, not accepting his suggestion would mean there are no world anymore. Keiwa's of course at fault for imposing his will to others, but wonder if she has her share of faults here as well to not address his or Sara's situation, the latter which is her fan (even if still to confirm that she's here to win). I also wonder if her established conflict of feeling wrong to keep fighting for her wish before is still ongoing even after Ace answered that, if her concern for Keiwa before and after the team up suggestion was genuine. Has been shown before, but Michinaga once again displays that rude, aggressive, toxic gamer type behavior doesn't always get you ahead in how causing an infighting would have him miss a chance instead with the boss escaping, or for DGP, also penalty in points. Michinaga only cares about Ace losing, but shows that being nice (like Keiwa) isn't the only reason to finish last, but being rude too can qualify, just for different purposes (especially Kanato before, both him and Keiwa seems to care the least of winning DGP). He's obviously abrasive to Keiwa all throughout episode, and dismissing his elimination as one less Rider, but dunno if there's sliver of soft spot to him in him running after him along with Neon after his Ninja fight but stopped himself. Though he's eliminated, Keiwa gets to be cool the first time, by making full use of the Ninja Buckle that goes to him for his self-sacrificing nature, not only to distract and last against the Knight Jamato, but also practically matching it. Seems that compared to Geats using it, in Tycoon's hand it's able to use his giant shuriken as a "hover board". And Tycoon performed a flutter jump in one of his leaps to a window?? Other than that, I also find Na-Go kicking away the can as another unexpected stuff, to have a female Rider that has infamous reputation throughout the franchise to have the closest shot to winning. Neon's previous training paid off, and as she did that on human form, she should've made use of her physical prowess against her bodyguards. No way this is the last we see of Keiwa, but I'm interested to know how they'd bring him back to DGP, and particularly, keep his character development progress as the eliminated got their memory erased. The simple way would be him touching an ID core by pure chance, but it'd be good if his diaries would be a way to re-integrate him to DGP with his current development, making good use of what's established so far, which is one of Geats' primary strength as series. Precisely because the game clearly loves Keiwa, I think that DGP needs altruists. For the Ninja and the connection with him is clear, but Boost falls into his hands from the qualifying round. |
