Since Masked Rider (Black (RX)) & Dragon Knight (Ryuki), I question about KR's future if it can be adapted right.
Depending on the seasons, which would be the best to adapt? I'll post Reiwa next after Heisei. Last edited by henshinzero; 12-27-2023 at 09:45 PM.. |

It's a waste of time to miss out on Hibiki, Kiva, Wizard and Ghost. Their aesthetics and spectacular fights would be very suitable for adaptation with its own plot. From the rest I will choose W, which seems to me quite attractive for Western audiences.

If you're going to try to skew as close as possible to the original story and set-up, then I'd definitely say Fourze.

He probably couldn't fit all the options in the poll. My problem is that I want to vote for Zi-O, but not Decade.

Well Decade did appear in Zi-O, so what mixing both together? |

Kuuga is also dedicated to the supernatural. Plus, we are talking about adaptation. No one is stopping western scenarist from making the Wizard's rings a technique, and the pentagrams just a logo.

Too me, there is no singular series that would be truly deserving of an adaptation, largely because there are SO MANY entries to consider. However, there are elements from each one that could serve an "adaptation".
Prior to Cosmic Fury and the apparent demise of PR adaptations (for the moment, anyway), I had long considered viable options on this matter. For starters, any adaptation would have to be set within the confines of the PR Multiverse. It doesn't mean that Rangers appear all the time, but locations and concepts would be familiar to those with foreknowledge. There is a major Showa Rider component to my opinions, but I'll table that for the moment given the thematic components of the thread itself. It should always be known that there are some who have no love for an adaptation and that no matter what you call a Rider in one, they'll always be known under their original designation. To that end, base forms have to considered carefully and if necessary... scrubbed from inclusion! If we are talking about Kuuga, then I would say keep the Growing Form and all subsequent forms, but table the iconic Mighty Form! Controversial to be sure, but that red chest armor will ALWAYS be associated with Kuuga! I would also say that there should be multiple "Kuugas" and the main villain isn't a Grongi, but the a corrupted user who turned to Ultimate and went bad. Agito-Kiva are entries in which making the multiple forms into multiple Riders while simultaneously considering the exclusion of a Base Form feels like an acceptable decision for aforementioned reasons. Ryuki is an obvious exception to the rule. Not all base forms would be scrapped and not all auxiliary forms would become a singular Rider in their own right. Some might even lose a form! Part of this decision is also based upon a certain practicality. Why use a form that uses a gun or blaster as an accessory when any toy would be either orange-capped or just not made into a toy? Faiz Blaster Form certainly qualifies in this context. Decade is a ringer cause it's difficult to judge. I'd shelve the series, but don't fret just yet... This is where picking something for an adaptation gets a little easier, but the PR Multiverse thing starts to pick up steam cause of the pre-existing Taisen Movies. Yes, I'm aware that when PR was being adapted, Movies were a separate deal from the Sentai series itself, but in this case...Movies should be the primary and series take a backseat...at least until W. Some things might make sense if you situate them into Power Rangers. Does making Wizard the offspring of Nick and Madison from Mystic Force sound so farfetched and unworkable? Yes, I know they were siblings in Magiranger, but MF changed that and suggested that there might be something between the two. Why couldn't they have a son who becomes a Rider instead of a Ranger? In a sense, we've already seen the "groundwork", albeit unintentionally. Remember when Sledge appeared in Super Ninja Steel? He was accompanied by Youkai/Shocker Buruburu from the crossover between Ninninger and Drive. Zi-O is clearly situated with Heisei in mind, and the costumes themselves are a glaring concern. "Another Rider" Kaijn have the original Rider names and the years the show they represent debuted during printed on their bodies. Wouldn't make a lot of sense in an adaptation done years later unless you have a convoluted plot device try to explain it. Staying with Zi-O, the helmets display kanji in overt fashion. How does one explain this? This is where Decade comes in, cause he might be able to take center stage alongside the MiRiders that Woz derived Power Mushrooms from? Since Decade technically appeared in Zi-O and even had his Driver modified to reflect the inclusion of additional Riders, it does make some sense. Also, Zi-O used Heisei Rider Armor while Decade turned a Rider into a creature, vehicle, or weapon. Which would you actually rather see? Personally, I like the idea of Decade using Blade Blade to strike at "Another Blade"! I could go into greater detail, but this is pretty long as it is. Maybe later, but I stand by my admittedly controversial opinions. |

I mean, if kanji can work for PRS, then kana can work for Zi-O.

Double and OOO always seemed to me good candidates for adaptation: Simple gimmicks that don't rely on an overabundance of items. Even without the roleplay stuff, you can make a pretty solid line of figures out of these seasons

What's wrong with KR Build? It's got "WWIII" written all over it! The Pandora War!
Replacing Touto, Hokuto & Seito, we have war between the north, south, east & west. And imagine if Ex-Aid got adapted, someone would try to make Genm Corp a reality. Even make collaborations with Nintendo, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Netherrealm, Ubisoft, etc. EDIT: Follow the Reiwa Era next - https://www.tokunation.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=98896 Last edited by henshinzero; 12-29-2023 at 04:56 PM.. |
