Don't feel bad. They just haven't accepted goddess Madoka into their hearts yet.

No need to be sorry at all. I'll have to watch that series to compare notes.

Wow.
Well, that was quite the episode. I'm in agreement that Jonouchi as Kurokage should have taken out the grasshoper/cockroach kaijin thing to really drive home how much he's grown, though what hit my emotions so hard was how when transforming, as they highlighted by throwing the brief flashback in there, he used Hase's Kurokage transformation pose, rather than his standard Gridon one, to honour his fallen friend. That was powerful. Whilst certainly not yet plot-wise, to me personally, Mitsuzane has finally been redeemed- and shaped, by the end of the episode, into a character that I really quite like. I think the crowning moment of him doing his original henshin pose was utterly fantastic, though I would really have liked to see him dancing again with the other beat riders by the end. Takatora's proud little smile after the final fight melted my heart a little though, I'm so glad that he finally has something to smile about. Kaito's final moments broke me. How he understood that this world was not suited for him, as he was unable to accept that life will go on even after terrible things, as the new kids at the shrine were doing, and then admitting that his lack of acceptance was his own weakness. I daresay the whole frustration people have about Kougane/Jam wouldn't be quite so much the case had we been able to see the summer movie already and as such known a little bit more about the nature of the character, but iirc the DVD release of the film isn't too far away, so maybe it will make a little more sense after that! (sorry the post is so spoilertag-heavy, but I know that some people are a lot more sensitive to spoilers than others, so figured I'd play it as safe as possible) |

What a ride it's been eh guys?
I think, for me, Gaim has been a shining example of not judging a book by its cover. I remember just being so set against the series when the fruit motif was revealed and the danxing, which completely turned me off of Kyoryuger. But I give it a fair shot week one and the rest is history. I can't say that Gaim is going down as my favorite season of Kamen Rider, honestly it just missed making my top 3 I think. But damn was it a good show and I commend the entire cast and crew for pulling off a show about dancing fruit bug samurai warriors that have to save the world from an "evil" sentient garden in a way that was fun, dramatic, and honestly just worked. The show had a few missteps, and the crossover episodes were definitely unnecessary, as was the "go see the movie" one, but there were far more hits than misses. As for the finale...well, I wish I could say it avoided something just about every season I've watched did to piss me off at the end, but bringing Takatora back last week just continued that trend and having the last big bad be tied in with the movie was just a bit of a waste. I'd be fine with an epilogue episode like this if they didn't feel the need to just shove in a villain the way they did. It worked for W, it doesn't really work here. There were a few other little things here and there that could have been done better or been changed, but the half-assed final boss was my only big complaint with this episode. Overall, it was a great show. Again, not my personal favorite, but it was definitely memorable. Bravo is one of my favorite riders ever, and his figuart looks fantastic on my shelf. Drive has some big shoes to fill following Gaim, I hope it gets a fair shot.

So Gaim comes to an end. Just seems like yesterday Kouta was doing his part time jobs with his Rider Form
![]() NEVER GIVE UP! Jonouchi stole the show with this episode. Having him learn the truth of Hase's fate and him becoming a Kurokage to battle Kougane and his Hopper Inves was a great coda to his character arc. Speaking of Kougane, I do like this episode addressed how the movie invaded the series. Makes the soccer episode feel less like a poorly timed filler and a meaningful plot point. |
