I like Season 2. I don't want them to write off 02 like Dragon Ball is doing to GT. I still think 02 had a good ending with the whole world knowing about the world of Digimon. Not to mention I think Frontier is the most dislike Digimon show from what I can recall.

02 is a poor follow up. The only character that wasn't just an expy of a previous Adventure character was Ken (Who could be argued that he was similar to Matt's broody phase), and despite that, Ken's character archetype is so overplayed in anime that it doesn't help save things. The Adventure cast is forcefully sidelined via the dark tower bullshit, and the new characters themselves just feel rather flat altogether, even in their instances of individuality. The stories were far weaker during the beginning (Since it's all just chasing and destroying the spires), and while things do eventually pick up, it's kind of a too little too late situation.
The climax was a gigantic let down. Myotismon is revealed to be behind everything out of nowhere, and then he's defeated by happy thoughts. And the ending was too stark of a contrast to Adventure's bittersweet ending of having to abandon their partners. I just felt 02 was so incredibly poor. Concerning Frontier, it's decent until the last quarter or so. I swear, that run of episodes just brought down an "Okay" series straight into "Horrid." Despite it being plot relevant, it felt so much like filler because it's all the same, just with a different backdrop.

I agree having Myotismon return was a bad idea for a final villain. I still wish they give us a original Digimon as a final villain for 02.

I think that's more Xros Wars than anything...maybe. Haven't seen it yet but I hear very little good being said about it.
Frontier is ok, most of the hate it tends to get is just from the humans transforming into Digimon thing. Definitely has its flaws besides that (ridiculous level of focus on the two main guys, mainly). But otherwise pretty alright. Probably. I'm still 4 episodes away from finishing Frontier... |

I didn't like Frontier, but that was in 2002 when it first aired. It killed Digimon for me, but I guess it was because it was different. I end up moving on to Yu-Gi-Oh since I lost interest after the first few episodes of Frontier.

Xros Wars just isn't interesting. And due to it's ridiculous length, I'm probably not gonna bother.
But I'd definitely say Frontier is the GT of Digimon.
