Right. Plus, there's not a lot of female Rangers to begin with. But the fact that they included Lauren, who was the 1st Female Red Ranger (Even though she wasn't for long,)was the opposite of sexist...wasn't she only in the show for like...3-4 episodes? Yet she was still included, even though she's an almost carbon copy of the Regular Red Samurai Ranger, just female...?(I hope that didn't sound sexist, lbs...) Plus...both the White Mystic and the Mighty M Yellow Ranger are still in the running and they're both female...! Idk... I don't see it. They're going harder on this sexist thing towards Bandai than over the Tommy Rangers incident! Seriously...!

I go to school for Video Game Design, and am currently in a programming class that shows the make-up/creation of a bot. Almost every bot is just a program that's told to constantly loop/emulate something, and in order to do that, somewhere within the coding is a tally of how many times it's ran/how many times it will run till it reaches it's goal(when in some bot's cases, they never will). Long story short, it's not impossible to find out exact numbers with most bots, most keep score themselves. So Bandai very well could've gotten exact figures.(Sorry for the long explanation.)
Even worse, reportedly the cookie exploit still works. If they can't lock down the problem, I have little faith that they can accurately determine whether a vote that comes in is legitimate or an abusing second, third, or, fourth vote from the same person. Hence why it would have been better to roll it all back to an even starting point. And beyond all this, it doesn't explain how the Tommy Rangers ended up with MORE votes after the purge than they did before it. |

You're totally right about the cookies and the increased Tommy votes(Though with the Tommy votes...Tommy fans have been voting religiously. There isn't that huge of a difference. Yesterday, Dino Black had like 30-40,000 likes, but 100,000 dislikes. Now his total like are still around 30-40,000 likes when I checked a couple hours earlier, his dislikes had just dropped drastically. Unless things have changed drastically again since a couple hours ago...) I completely agree there. And I wasn't saying that what they did was right either, I was just saying it's possible (though I'm not saying it happened, just saying it's possible) that they figured the exact totals of the "botted" votes.

I see how these people are now that I showed my opinions on JDF's page before I unliked the page (Now mind you, I did put it politely and never bad mouthed anyone.) I later get a response by his "true fans" and now I'm called a hater and you know what? I don't care what they say. I'll stand my ground on the decision I made while at the same time try not to add fuel the fire. Hard to believe my view of someone I looked up to can be turned upside down all in one day.

I program at my job. BOA isn't going to have access to the bot program (if there actually was one), so they aren't going to see any incrementing counter written in to it. Additionally, the type of cheating mentioned by JDF is a completely different animal. Unless they logged the IP address of every set of votes coming in, it would be hard tracking that sort of activity. It looks as though they sort of put the whole thing together in a manner that required a minimal amount of effort on their end.

What seems much more likely is a person with the appropriate connections made a complaint and they blindly listened to said person (citing the influx in voting as a "bot" or what have you, ignoring the fact that no, there was just that much attention generated towards this contest) and adjusted things in their favor...

First let me say I am new here but with my background in information and data security couldn't resist adding my .02$. My degree is in computer science with a networking focus. I said all that to say this- The network admin should have no trouble once the vulnerability is identified filtering out any connections made exploiting the vulnerability. This is a big part of why server logs are kept. The server logs will have a date time stamp as well as ip address for every connection. This would also catch low volume cheaters as incognito mode and clearing cookies won't change your IP. You could still cheat using proxies or vpns but not on nearly as large a scale because they would still need to be changed each time you vote. All that being said as a rangers fan it seems people are taking it that if you vote against JDF he's calling you a hater...... I don't see that I see the few cheaters as being called haters. But take it how you want I'm voting for my fav's I hope you are too even if they aren't the same as mine.
TLDR: Yes they can catch cheaters. If your not cheating your not hating. Vote your heart or your hate whatever makes you happy. Welcome to Tokunation! ![]()

I'm laughing at some of those Pro-JDF comments on FB. It's just so hilarious!
