I'll admit, I haven't seen Super Hero Taisen, so maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's just Go-BusterOh Rocket States. Maybe the writers ignored the apartment building sized drills attached to GT-02. I don't know.

Awesome news today. Someone over at the tokufans board (formerly HJU's media matrix) found the HK subs for Kamen Rider X. The grammar is atrocious, but they work well enough to give you an idea of what's going on. X Rider is probably the one show I haven't fully seen yet that I want to finish the most, so I am totally going to watch these HKs.

![]() Honestly, for me the real challenge of watching Showa era Rider isn't the length, it's the more episodic nature. Very few of these shows have much in the way of long-running plot arcs, which can make it harder to build up the momentum to sit through several episodes in a row. I marathoned the hell out of Agito when I first watched it, but I don't think I've ever seen more than two episodes of a Showa series in one sitting. That said, a lot of those done-in-ones from the Showa era are really great and fun. If you want to try taking a whack at the Showa era I'd definitely recommend Black. It's fully subbed and it has a little bit of an ongoing story arc, although it doesn't do a great job of pacing it well. It has a great star, though, some excellent action scenes, and a killer soundtrack. |

Showa = longer shows is actually a misconception. Of the nine Showa series only one is significantly longer than a modern Rider series: the original Kamen Rider. V3, Skyrider, Super-1, Black, and Black RX all clock in at around the same ~48-50 episodes that the modern shows do. Meanwhile, X and Stronger have less than forty episodes each and Amazon doesn't even crack twenty-five.

Oh. Yeah, there's that. Really doesn't help that only one (admittedly very awesome) group is doing Showa stuff right now.
