I think I compared Kabuto to a heart attack before, but really it's less of a sudden pain and more like a building discomfort followed by agony.

Well did you watch it in 2002? I sure didn't. I'm generally pretty lax about people posting spoilers but I feel finales are one of the few things you should pretty much always tag, especially if you're going to mention so many details.

I mean, I've seen it already though, and the whole reset-button thing is hardly a secret, so I guess if nobody else has a problem with it that's fine.

I'm not even going to try to order the shows in a list. The only one I haven't seen enough of to judge is Super-1 and my list honestly gets pretty murky outside of the top and bottom three (top: Hibiki, Black, W; bottom: Kiva, Ghost, Fake Hibiki).

I thought the ending to Ryuki was bad too until I listened to an episode of HJU radio that really changed my mind on the subject. I forget which episode it is but one of the peope on there argued that one interpretation of the show and the movie+ special is that Shiro just keeps resetting the Rider War to get his desired outcome. That the show is the true ending where he gives up and lets Yui die. The idea being that the ending is more about the concluding overall arc of Shiro letting go and stopping fucking with these random people's lives by having them fight over and over for his own selfish desire to keep Yui alive. Now, one could argue, that the resolution of those arcs could be meaningless to begin with given Shiro kept resetting everything previously, or that it is important because it got him to realize he should stop.

And in that respect, I think it's a good ending.

I actually decided to hold back for once but I really think it's a mistake to act like Ryuki's ending was just an arbitrary happy ending for the sake of it, regardless of whether it was even good or bad. I wouldn't even call that an interpretation it's so clearly the point of the show. I'm sure a more tragic ending could've made the point just as well, but it just wouldn't make sense for Kanzaki to do anything but what he did.

I might as well come out and say that I think Agito is complete garbage. It was agony to even finish. I can find something to like in most other KR seasons I am not very fond of, but there is literally nothing I like about Agito. My opinion is lowered even further by basically being a bad Kuuga in my eyes.

Kamen Rider Stomach Ulcers is such an underrated gem though. I legit bawled at that last scene where Stomach Ulcers had to kill Kamen Rider Hemorrhoids. I don't know if anything will ever top that moment even though the pacing of the show was awkward.

I think the pacing got a lot better when Kamen Rider Lung Cancer showed up. Best villain Rider hands down IMO.
