My main problems with Alien Force were the seasons succeeding the first one. The first episode of the second season felt like Ben had regressed as a character, having reverted back to his cocky personality from his more mature personality in the first season. Soon, I found the series steadily begin to get annoying.

Another incarnation of Ben-10 ![]() ![]() My god the kids nowadays have ZERO good hero shows. ![]() Who thought it was a good ideal to bring Teen Titans back? Instead of progressing with Young Justice they decided on that move huh. ![]() |

Saturday mornings are a straight joke now. I remember waking up at 6 a.m. and watching cartoons clear to 12 noon. Every station had them on too, NBC, ABC, CBS, your local T.V. broadcasters. Straight action/adventure themed cartoons. None of this goofy sh*t. ![]() Are they trying to turn our children into idiots now? When we use to watch He-Man or G.I. Joe. We wanted to be heroes like those guys. Some of us grew-up and took jobs where we can help people because of that. So what message is these goofy cartoons sending to our children now? This why I buy DVD's of all of the past great cartoons. So that my boys can see what real cartoons were like. |

It's simple. Action/adventure cartoons aren't raking in the money or ratings anymore. I think the only ones that seem to not be flopping are TMNT and Adventure Time, possibly Legend of Korra, too.
Meanwhile, you have Spongebob airing for over a decade, and that tells networks that stupid ass stuff like that is what the people will want to tune in for. It doesn't necessarily mean a change in tastes, it just means that action/adventure shows have to be higher quality than what we accepted in the 90's (I loved them, but the only one that holds up is Batman: TAS. Supes, X-Men, Tick, and etc are not as good as I remembered).

Remember Cartoon's original cartoons that were actually good? Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls (Which I still think they marketed wrong, I know more guys that watch it than girls). I'd rather sit down and watch a marathon of Cow and Chicken (Which I didn't get either) than watch anything they show now. Even Adult Swim is on my last nerve. Bumps that are suppossed to be clever written by college drop-outs who think sarcasm is the only form of humor. Robot Chicken was one of their best shows, simple as it is. But I think they're that show that's been on so long that it's occasionally funny but is like that old dog with the anal leak and the crippling arthritis no one has the heart to put down because he's always been a loyal and loving friend. Family Guy has been on so long I've seen every episode more times than I care to remember, American Dad has a few episodes that still make me laugh (Roy Rogers McFreely for some reason cracks me up), The Cleveland Show just isn't funny. Bob's Burgers I've never really seen but a few times. Aqua Teen in it's various incarnations is like my opinion on Robot Chicken. Their live action shows never once caught my attention. Metalacolypse was one of my favorite shows. It was funny, the music was better than some bands out out these days, but they cancelled that to. And even on the night they show anime they still show an hour or two of their idiotic comedy shows. And Cartoon Network isn't the only one. The Hub cancelled Gi Joe: Renegades without warning, Disney XD cancelled Tron and changes airtimes without warning. And Nick.. Yea, that's how to get a show ratings. Six episodes, nine months off, six episodes. And then you have network Saturday Morning TV which has gone from being three channels to just Vortexx. And all Vortexx is are reruns of shows that aired on other networks. Justice League Unlimited, and Transformers Prime, and Qubex. Do they even have original programming? .. I miss the 90's. Freakazoid, Animaniacs, Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series. ... Okay I miss KidsWb. |

CN used to be better than this. But they cancel shows that are actually good, or keep them on so long they become Ben 10: Omniverse. And instead show things like Uncle Grandpa, and Ordinary Show, and Gumball. Annoying Orange -_-...

It's the same kind of obtuse humor as Ren and Stimpy or Cow and Chicken except it can't have as many penis innuendo jokes. Trying to praise Cow and Chicken (Which I do know you said you didn't get) when Gumball is basically that with more current humor seems hypocritical and just screaming "I don't like change."
