Mine are pretty positive. Had some problems with some parts but it wasn't deal-breaking for me as it was for some other people. To me the show suffered from 2 main problems: - A very divided fanbase - A transition between 2 animation studios (MiR and Pierrot) The storyline itself was solid. It was at its core a Good Vs Evil storyline with some grey areas like the underscored question of Segregation Vs. Tolerance regarding the Spirits. The vocal parts of the fanbase feels like the Dark Avatar concept was poorly conceived and that the finale was layered in "Deus Ex" but that phrase gets thrown around so much, especially in the Avatar fandom which has become rather...divided. Its essentially G1 vs everything after all over again so I expected it. The animation for the finale was top-notch, the fight sequences were excellent, the music was inspiring and the stakes had never been higher. But for every good the show delivered "fans" or viewers chose to see what they perceived as bad. Yes, the giant Kaiju-esque battle seemed a little out there, yes Jinora showing up with the solution seemed kind of like a cop-out but Jinora's role was being built up since episode 2. I also feel the camps are being further divided with the setting. Some people want to see the series return to Republic City. Others feel it should continue this worldwide scope of adventure. Then there are the writing snobs who feel the writers/creators don't know what they are doing...ruining the franchise...etc...etc. I liked this season. I preferred the edgier more grounded 1st season more but the creators were trying to please as many fans as possible with this: - More of the Avatar World. Check. -Spirit World shennanigans. Check. -A definitive origin to the Avatar legacy. Check. -More beautiful fight scenes. Check. -****ing Verrick. Check! But the more "discerning fans" choose to focus on: - "Deus ex machina" moments - ATLA fanwank. - "Hating" on that "cheesy love triangle". I think its safe to say they care more about that than they let on. It's sad really that a show with so much love and effort put into it, get so over-analyzed and dished on because the show didn't go the way some fans wanted. |

So I caught the Hulked out Heroes episode of Avengers Assemble.
I did enjoy the episode, more so than Gamma World but…I've found another thing about this series that bugs me: It seems like every episode they're looking for a new excuse for the Avengers to fight one another, it gets kinda annoying that they're trying to look for this conflict every episode. |

Sp, apparently, Family Guy Sunday night killed off Brian. So that happened. I wasn't watching, I was watching the truely excellent Sunday Night Football game.

Yeah I watched it literally just now.
Pretty much the definition of jumping the shark, right? And I'm not crazy about it.

I don't know. I honestly haven't watched Family Guy regularly in a couple years anyway. I usually only catch an episode here or there if the Sunday Night Football game sucks.

If Seth MacFarlene is genuinely trying to kill Family Guy because he's sick of making it and wants it to stop being so popular then I say good on him I guess.
Not really got an opinion myself, I went off the show a good few seasons ago.

Well Seth Macfarlane says he wants to shake things up, so... But I did read somewhere that Brain well be back in the next season. Not sure if they meant bringing him back or just having him appear as a ghost or something.
I'm liking the new dog Vinnie, he's voiced by one of my favorite The Sopranos character,Paulie. |

I came up with a brilliant idea after staring at a doodle I drew of Doctor Fate (which you can find in the "How is everyone today?" thread). Said idea is a Doctor Fate cartoon series with the same tone and feel as Batman: The Brave and the Bold. It would be a simple hero vs. villain cartoon, perhaps with a story regarding a magical artifact or a famous Doctor Fate storyline, filled with campy fun and good, old-fashioned magical beatdowns.
I will, however, settle for a Doctor Fate plushie/squeaky doll. |
