btw, there are rumours about Pokemon Stars, the third version, for the Switch.An extremely reliable source for Switch news said she's positive this is the case too. Thoughts?

Another reason why I don't buy Sun or Moon yet. Not because I would want to buy Stars mind you, but because I don’t want to reward Game Freak if they plan to do this. I hate it when developers / publishers release an upgraded version of a game for another console entirely.

Going by past releases it would be 2 years after Sun/Moon before this "Stars" version even comes out.

I've read the rumors Annuga refers to; it says Stars comes out next year and that it was in development alongside Sun & Moon. Apparently you could see some HD models of a Pokémon in a trailer or something.

For the sake of promoting the Switch, Nintendo needs a successful console again. I wouldn't be surprised if Pokemon Nemesis was also available on the 3DS aswell. Not to mention most of the Switch's rumoured games are ports, mostly Wii U ports, but ports nonetheless

And Sun and Moon do barely use the touch screen (with most everything having button alternatives anyway), which is the main thing brought up when mentioning porting games to the Switch from the 3DS/WiiU...
