No real surprise there. The two UB-04's aren't equal in value, since you get 4 of one and 2 of the other. If you're trying to get a Celesteela by putting up a Kartana that's unlikely to work out.
I expect you'd have more luck with their respective UB-02 counterparts. A Celesteela for a Buzzwole is more likely to work, I'd expect. |

I'm apparently way too crap at the Battle Tree to get more than one win, so I gave up on trying to get enough BP for the Up-Grade and just traded away a Scizor for a Porygon2. It's nice that there appears to be some misconception about how difficult it is to get one of those because it makes it easy to trade. And with that, I just need four trade evos to finish my living dex of normal Pokemon. Hooray.
So I'm starting on the legendaries. Went and caught Tapu Koko first. Was easier than expected, only took seven Poke Balls. And I went and stocked up 500 of them in preparation...not that I mind. And the synchronizer worked the first time which is nice. Three to go. And then some beasts. edit: Decided to push my luck and went after Tapu Lele. Was harder, took 15 Poke Balls, still not too bad. Synchronizer worked again, so that's something. Onto the bull. edit: Bulu took 14 Poke Balls, though it was harder overall since it has 4 offensive moves instead of 3 and a status like the others. Also that it hits like a damn truck. Unfortunately synchronize didn't work this time, so he's Calm instead of Adamant. But I guess it's not like it matters, since I'm not even into competitive or anything. Also I don't really feel like resetting. So meh. edit: and I got Fini. I accidentally killed her twice so I had to soft reset, but I struck gold on my third try. I got her at full health on my second turn! Friggin sweet. And the synchronizer worked! (The synchronizer also leveled up 19 levels) 3/4 ain't bad at all. Total number of Pokeballs spent between these four: 38. Not bad. Last edited by barnstenchfartface; 12-02-2016 at 07:13 AM.. |

Finally became Champion last night!
![]() ![]() ![]() This was by far the longest it's taken me to beat the game, largely because of regular interruptions but I digress there. Glad to beat it (and have a lot left to look forward to) but think I'll take a break until I get my New 3DS to actually get some use out of that. If I can wait that long heh. Also the first time in a few years I didn't blog my thoughts daily since I'm not really active where I did it before. Did so for the past 4 or 5 games and kind of missed it (though with how long this one went and how slow progress was... eh maybe for the best). But overall I'd say I liked the game. It did end up holding your hand too much, that's for sure. They pulled back some after the first island fortunately - which was overwhelming - but still I was tired of being told and shown precisely where to go every few steps. Not really going into a lot of specifics here but just to be safe? Cutscenes were nice and added a lot to the important story moments. But speaking of... It was kind of weak to me. The adventure and personal growth aspect of it between you, Hau, and especially Lillie was the main focus and that part was pulled off well and I did enjoy that. But Team Skull and Aether Foundation seemed like such afterthoughts, the latter and Lusamine in particular. As crazy as she was I just never much cared because we barely saw her. Creating the League was cool. I didn't know who to expect at all in it and the new character threw me for a loop a bit. Had I known types ahead of time I would have kept Link around for the Rock damage. But Solgaleo helped out a lot again Hala so eh trade offs. Kagami just needed to be stronger really. I knew going into the first one that I was well underleveled, but I never once soft reset (in fact I only saved outside of it because I expected to get trounced and just go grind instead) and beat everyone in my first go. The fight against Kukui was great, especially him having Prismarina so somebody in the game finally used the starter Hau and I didn't pick. Liked that small touch. But wow did that cutscene at the end drag on and on and on... And the unskippable credits... Not fun. Just defeated Tapu Koko quickly so I can return later and reset for natures. But coming full circle like that was nice. Still looking forward to more with the Ultra Beasts or whatever else is left in the post-game as I've kept myself rather in the dark about that (something about defending your championship though? Sounds neat), just not quite yet. And like I've said before this was the first time I used a rotating team. It was pretty fun actually. Also used a lot more Bug types than I ever have, which had its ups and downs but there were some really cool ones this generation. So everyone that helped me, which was more varied than ever have: Kane the Incineroar Kagami the Vikavolt Saba the Salazzle Shredder the Golisopod Agito the Kommo-o Solgaleo (Don't nickname my legendaries but we all know what this one would have to be if I did) Link the Lycanroc (Midday) Sleipnir the Mudsdale Lolth the Araquanid Beak the Toucannon Gordon the Gumshoos Kaido the Snorlax Linlin the Raticate (Alola) And there's a ton of gen 7 'mons I just didn't get to that I would totally use on a second run. Or if I get Moon. Although Turtonator was one of them... I just realized I never went up to the power plant at all! D'OH! >_<

Hey! Was wondering when they'd inevitably use N. Still odd he has the Truth Pokemon when he's all about ideals.
Speaking of Unova, would anyone happen to have a Tornadus spare? It's one of the few things Pre-Alola I'm still missing. I could offer Darkrai or Meloetta in exchange? |

It's shorts like this that make me wish we had a Pokémon anime aimed at an older audience, this is SOOO good.
