If they go for a halloween theme, what if the collectible gimmick is candy? Afterall nothing is off the table these days.

Then scratch that theory (maybe). Kiva isn't one of the best liked series so they might rather avoid any similarities.

KR Ghost should possess monster forms: the ghost, the lycan, the vampire, the merman, the mummy, frankenstein, etc.

But what about the yokai? 2nd rider?

That's literally Kiva's arsenal.

Maybe Ghost is sort of monk-ish? It matches the orange color scheme, and the merchandise mentioning loud bells.

That's what makes me think that Oni will be the enemy and yokai would aid ghost.

Yokai can be both good or bad, so he might have some friendly Yokai or maybe a a tamed Oni as his allies, but fight against both sorts of demons nonetheless. (A good show on that topic is the Jigoku Sensei Nube Live Action- cast features Gaim, GokaiGreen and Meteor, btw.)
