The All Encompassing POKÉMON Thread

I'm putting Heracross as a plus in the Y column. Between X getting the better Mewtwo and Charizard forms, and Aggron and Clauncher... Y's been lacking for me.

But this Heracross I definitely like.

If you can get him early enough in the game to be a real contributor to the team, I'll definitely try him out. And probably nickname him Gatack.

Since when did Vivillion have different formes? o_O

Edit: Wow. Just looked it up. That's both cool and bullshit. As a living dex collector, it's gonna take a lot of effort tracking down legitimate versions of all of these...

Hm...I remember when my local Kmart broke street date for GTA V. I guess I'll check today and see if they did the same for Pokemon.

Why exactly is each pokemon game split in two? (Black and White, Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Diamond and Pearl, X and Y) Never quite understood that.

There's 3 reasons i can think of.

They needed more games to make use of the Game boy link cable.
Game Freak wanted you to go out and meet people in order to get all the mons.
Money.

The point was to interact. The split is so that certain Pokemon are completely unavailable unless you get a friend.
Miyamoto wanted to emphasize the trading aspect to get players to come together.
