Just...just what even? What sixth ranger? What are we suppose to talk about in terms of liking or not? Context, give C O N T E X T. This rapid fire questioning you do is always either incoherent or jumps the gun. Seriously stop, think it through, and then ask in a way that allows for somebody to A) know that you're asking and B) reply to it. I meant what do you like about Sixth Ranger? Why is important to have a Sixth Ranger? What make him so special than other rangers? |

I like sixths rangers because they shake up the status quo. Maybe not as much any more, since they tend to get introduced early and just become an official team member, but if you go back to their introduction...Burai's story was a HUGE part of Zyuranger. The rivalry between him and Geki, his relationship with Bandora...he wasn't just another team member, and he wasn't just another villain. Abarekiller is another good example. So that's why I like 6th rangers - they have the potential for good storytelling, they shake up the standard team dynamic, and are just a nice change of pace sometimes.

My question is maybe a bit different. When dating, how do your partners feel about your Sentai watching habits? Have you ever dated somebody that enjoyed it?
My ex thought it was cool when I started watching Zyuranger (due to nostalgia, but she didn't understand why I watched it in Japanese instead of English) but started making fun of me for it shortly after. Once I got into Rider though, she started to take an interest in the two series and could at least appreciate them, even if she didn't enjoy it. (I think she preferred Rider though, since it came off as more mature and wasn't Power Rangers)

Can't say that much about it as my relationship experience isn't that deep, but so far, I've only been dating nerds.
I mean, I used to be dating ElConvoy and given that we met through toku, it's pretty obvious we both enjoyed it a lot. I think it would be very hard for me to date someone who doesn't enjoy it, because I basically can't shut up about it and both my display shelves and wardrobe are stuffed with Toku related items. But overall, I'd rather have someone who openly says they don't enjoy it so that we just don't watch it together than someone who pretends to enjoy it and watches it just for me while being bored/uncomfortable. I don't feel like wasting my partner's time with something he doesn't like and instead prefer to whole-heartedly enjoy what I love on my own. |

For Zyuoh the World, We don't know much about his civilian identity, It could go different way. He could be a rogue deathgalien or a human. I don't think he is another Zyuman. I think Zyuoh the World might debut in later episodes because ToQ 6Gou was revealed in February 2014 but he didn't debut until his Debut Episode, Episode 17 was released in JUNE 2014. Zyuoh the World might WON'T debut very early on |

Okay well I didn't watch ToQger, but Kyoryu Gold and Star Ninger both showed up pretty early and were just kind of there

Isn't episode 17 the norm for Sixths to appear? I think that's about right for Dragonranger, Kibaranger, Deka Break, Shinken Gold, and probably others I'm forgetting. Since that's almost exactly the one-third mark for a Super Sentai series, it's a logical place to shake up the team dynamic as the story moves into another act. I haven't seen much Kyouryuuger or Ninninger (like three episodes of each) so I can't really comment on their Sixths.

The cooler sixths (in my opinion) have always shown up in the mid to late 20's. The ones that just become another cog in the wheel show up early. Itchy didn't feel like a sixth ranger in the 30's of Kyoryu, but there were also 4 other rangers.
My wife is actually the one that discovered sentai and introduced me to it. We were living in Korea and she was channel surfing and stopped when she saw a fight scene. She was like "hey, you like Power Rangers, come watch it in Korean with me". So we watched and all the rangers were Asian (didn't know they were Japanese) and that night I did research and found Shinkenger. The rest is history...for me, at least. She is also the one that told me to try making my own red ranger SHF since there are so many that I want that are being made. Even bought me an airbrush and paint to start off. I guess she figures there is way worse stuff I could be doing with my time and money and our daughters and I watch sentai together; so increased family time is always cool. |

Ironic that you found Shinkenger after watching a Korean Sentai dub.
