Here's my own prediction of the end (see: wrong).
Kouta obtains the power of the Golden Fruit which allows him the ability to more or less shape reality. All of his friends are dead - Takatora (killed by Micchy), Micchy (killed by Kouta), Hase (killed by Sigurd), Zack, Jonouchi, Oren, and Minato (killed by Micchy), Ryouma (killed by Roshuo), and Kaito (kills himself in a sacrifice to save Kouta after his infection takes over). The only survivors are Kouta and Mai (who now possesses the Golden Fruit inside of her). Kouta can continue life as normal and live with Mai forever - or they can both sacrifice themselves and turn back the clock, eliminating everything from ever happening. Mai will profess that she will cease to exist because she is the Golden Fruit, but it is Kouta who gets to make the decision. He does. Reality fades out to black and then back to white. We are taken back to the start of Gaim, but there are differences - Yggdrasill doesn't exist. The shrine and the tree are there, never taken down. Mai is a priestess at the church and meets Kaito and Yuuya, and there's an obvious three way romantic fight. Because there's no Yggdrasill, Micchy and his brother Takatora are together as a dance team. Oren is still baking things, Jonouchi and Hase are hanging out again, Sid is a street merchant selling Oren's baked goods, Ryouma is a conservation scientist with Minato being a teacher (I dunno). Mai and Kaito sit down to have lunch together and they pull out an orange and cut it open. As Mai goes to eat it she looks at it and her memory is triggered for an instant - a quick flash of everything with Kouta, to the point she whispers the name Kouta as she has a quick realization that Kouta made sure she survived even as the Golden Fruit resided in her. But as quickly as she remembers the memories are gone. Flash forward back to Kouta. He is still alive in Helheim forest, but he is very weak. He falls to his knees and his body begins to fade away. His final words are about using his power to protect everyone as he fades away to nothing. A zipper opens and we're taken to a black screen. THE END.

Well, from what we saw at the Tokusatsu Network with tweets from the actors, it would appear that Kaito, Micchy, and Mai are at least there for the final day of shooting (as is Bando's assistant).

Keep in mind, though, Toei is going to want to have as many of the characters as possible still viable for this winter's Movie Wars. And if history is any indication, they'll want it to be a follow-up to the show's plot.

I know exactly how this'll end.
At the end of the series it will be revealed that Helheim is, in actuality, what is left of Zawame City after decades of the invasion. The Overlord King Rushou (I can't spell) is Kouta, his queen is Mai, that female Overlord is Minato, and Reduye was Kaito. And the cracks? Cracks in time. |
