Ranma 1/2 was one of the first anime series I ever really got into as a kid in the early 90s when I was first introduced to anime by my older brother. Initially I saw Bubblegum Crisis, Dominion Tank Police, Gunbuster, and Guyver first. Then I saw Ranma 1/2. I actually watched the OAVs and first movie before I even got to the TV series, which as a kid I was kind of disappointed in the dumbed down art compared to the stuff I watched before it.
Actually...while we're on anime stuff here, there should be S.H. Figuarts of the characters from Ah My Goddess! Belldandy, Urd, Skuld, Peorth, Hild, Mara... I think they'd look awesome given how well Bandai can make those Pretty Cure Figuarts.

Well, The Figuarts releases for both Master Asia & Domon Kasshu look casual aswell *way more so than most of the other human s.h. figuarts we've had before* so those 2 & the first releases for the Ranma 1/2 figuarts for both of Ranma's "types" will be a nice intro to figuarts with regular clothing *regardless if Domon & Master Asia look like they belong in a f**king street fighter game with their outfits

You guys all need Manga re-education! Everyone deserves Ranma 1/2 in their lives. Manga or Anime!
The Ranma Figuarts couldn't come out faster for me. I assume they'll be very popular in Japan, so I expect Akane and Ryoga to follow soon! Then Kuno... Then Shampoo (although I hate the character)... As for Sailor Moon compared to Ranma, I'd say any perceived difference is simply from Ranma wearing normal clothes rather then flashy outfits. It's a far cry from the standard Figuarts! In fact, they may be the first ever to wear clothes that could be considered casual in the Figuarts line. Rumiko's signature simple art-style is probably a factor too, I guess. But as someone who's read Ranma their whole lives, I couldn't be happier! I'll buy every single one they release in a heart beat. Well... I was told to drop it, but since you asked I guess there's no harm in explaining my statement as long as it doesn't send the topic off course. It was cut from the anime (in which it was changed to a single-sided schoolgirl crush) but the manga featured a 10 year-old and her adult teacher mutually in love with each other. The writers (CLAMP) have a "love holds no barriers" ideology, including adults in love with young children. I guess if you want more information then Google-Fu it and read more about it and CLAMP's rather dangerous opinion. *only saw the dubbed anime* |

I could care less about what the manga did as opposed to the anime or vice-versa.
I watched the anime, I enjoyed the anime, I want the Sakura Figuart.

I know people have very iffy feels on Inuyasha, but I won't mind SHF Inuyasha figures. The series is nostalgic to me since I was really into it back in 2003 - 2005.

I was just thinking that when I saw the Ranma figures. My only concern is how tessaiga would be handled since it grows when it is unsheathed. But they would probably find a way to mitigate the problem.

The work around would be two swords.

Oh, that? I imagine they just let the buyers figure it out, since the only work around would either be to make it hollow or include a stand just to hold the sword.

Should be OK. Shinken Red's pretty good with the Rekka Daizantou and that's even bigger and heavier. Both normal and Princess Red can even stand unaided with their Daizantous!
