Thoughts:
I have a feeling this romancing of Gia is gonna get annoying... The science teacher is into cryptos? Yep, he's gonna find out about the Rangers. Wait... the giant heads are also their communicators? *sigh* I don't know if it's copying Goseiger or not, but the scientist personality of the MotW is actually making a lot of sense this early in the series. Not just a random monster attacking for the heck of it... I like it. Well that's a long roll call. Those bat things are creepy. Certainly an interesting way to make the monster grow. "They're Zords!" How the hell do you know what that means. -_- Still, first Zord use! ...and it was still somewhat ruined by the massive names on the cards screaming "Gosei ____" when they aren't called that here at all. Yep, Megazord transformation is so clearly different in the show compared to the toy. Why couldn't they have just had a flip-out head in the dragon. Putting it in the tail was just so stupid. Hey, at least Gosei's telling them what to do in this episode. That's better than last week's where - GO AWAY SPONGEBOB AD - they just magically knew it all.

Actually, the Gosei prefix is used by the Rangers.

I'm talking about the Zord cards and how the real life cards for them give the proper PR names, but in show they're still using the original Sentai cards. And that it's too blatantly obvious and makes them look lazy/would be confusing to kids.
Nonetheless, I know "Gosei" is used in places... so I'm actually not too sure what exactly you're replying to here since it's used in several places.

Does anybody else get the impression that Gia is the bad ass of the 5 thus far?
Being standoffish to jake , calling out his and Noah's bromance , wanting to kick ass without the team . I am getting a slight Taylor from wild force vibe and I like it.

Starting to watch "He Blasted Me with Science", writing this down as I go along. I'm liking the spoken cold-start to the episodes so far. And from the look the acting is so much better than anything done in Samurai. Gia and Jake especially. I even love they named the MoTW You-Foe. Love that. Mr. Burnley though I see getting on my nerves just like the Principal from season 01. So did Ernie.
The WarStar (Refusing to call to call them Insectoids) voices are so incredably dead-on, I love them. Then Brajira is just awesome no matter what, so. Did we have to call them Loogies, Saban.... They really need to fix some of the Goseiger footage though. He has a good several inches on Alata, so when they switch back and forth Red loses them whenever they switch back and forth. And it's really weird seeing Mega Black hit on Mega Yellow. But thats just because I've watched Goseiger, and I know it's technically incest. Zombats, epic! And I am loving them calling Dynamic before they fire their Mega Weapon, Epic again! And calling them Mecha-Zords are a very nice touch to. Okay, that whole speech about the Zords running on strength and courage? Yea. Cheesy. Maybe she couldn't shake them because the signs were in Japanese on the tunnel, and she was getting lost. Just saying. Love the Magazord battle. But they missed a trick by not calling it Gosei Great Mecha Megazord. Mega Mechazord? All in all it wasn't that bad. 4/5. |

A really bad show from Japan whose footage Saban is stuck with having to use.

I liked this episode. It had some good moments in it, a bit of retro cheesiness, and some good Zord stuff (it's really a pity that most Sentai shows only use the individual mechs for the first episode - more of them need to be like Go-Busters in that regard). I liked the monster this week, too. "I don't like this card game!" actually got a good chuckle out of me. Last edited by Switchblade; 02-09-2013 at 02:40 PM.. |

Alrighty then, wasn't sure.
But then... toy-wise (and if I was hearing right in this episode), it's only used in the Megazord combinations. Where'd you catch it as being used before the Zord names?
