The reason why everyone is thinking about new collectors line is because:
1) A mass market toy line isn't going to happen and if it did, it would fail just as hard as Real Steel did. The only people that care are collectors. 2) NECA's Pacific Rim toys suck. Collectors want better. Like a Gypsy Danger that at least has elbows that can bend more than 45 degrees and comes with it's weapons. Gypsy Danger can't even do it's signature punching open hand pose. 3) Even if NECA still has a toy license for Pacific Rim in the US, that means jack squat in Japan. If it's Bandai, Bluefin probably wouldn't be able to bring them over, but we've gone without Bluefin before. Personally, I think Kaiyodo will go after Pacific Rim for their Sci-Fi Revoltech line. The Sci-Fi line has done both US movie robots and kaiju and those are the things Revoltech excels at. Not many people's first choice, I'm sure, but at least they'd put the effort in it unlike NECA.
