Same here. I've actually read THG and I just found it to be disgusting tripe. It, like Battle Royale never came across like a "thought-provoking look at the lengths media could go to" or "look at how far reaching and powerful governments could get" or whatever other shitty message the author wanted and more like "the shit Winston likes." There was no enjoyment on my part in reading it and I got no message.

You want a good series? The Shadow Children, AKA the "Among the X" books. That does the dystopia thing great by setting up the dystopia to be realistic and small. Its not some grandiose regime where the bloated pigs in power control the tortured masses because EVIL!!!!! and have filled the world with robots, chrome, genetically altered spy birds or semi-virtual death arenas where dirty depressed people get their shit ruined for some stupid goal by the people in charge. It's simple.

Damn, alright. No love for the Hunger Games I see. I guess we can read The Time Machine or Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series or even The 39 Clues series.

I like to read fantasy, comedy, action, drama, romance stories... so... um... yeah.

Man, I'd love to do this except I'm such a slow reader I'd still be on the first book by the time everyone else is five in.

That said, if any of you guys liked Kamen Rider W then you should really read one of Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe novels. I recommend Farewell, My Lovely or The Long Goodbye.
