I had recently just finished a re-watch of Kyoryuger and watching this episode after that sentai's finale and how seriously they treated the deaths of their monster generals, seeing Tsugomori taken out like any other monster of the week was just...frustrating.
On top of that, Tsugomori himself, like Gengetsu's wife, was just never an interesting character. He had promise, but then they just stuck him on the sidelines as a spectator for the majority of his time on the show. His abilities to mess with people's minds and memories could have lent themselves to such good stories and episodes and would have made the character extremely intimidating. Hell, even the sudden fact that he's actually just a tiny creature could have been an interesting thing to either allude to or use to his advantage. Plus his scheme was interesting, but with how easily Fuuka and Yakumo were able to dispel it, why didn't someone like Kasumi think of that, too? They apparently had plenty of time to realize what was happening to them before being brainwashed if the former two's ordeal was any indication. Yeah, it sounds absolutely nitpicky, but it just comes off as lazy to me.
