Oh, I'm not the only one who felt that? I tend to like the opening themes and love the expanded version, but in Excite's case, I was seriously underwhelmed by the full version. I haven't unpacked what it was about my expectations that caused that, because I *love* the opening. (As a result, I'm dismayed that the show seems to have largely abandoned it, saving the song for the closing minute of the show.)

Apparently not. I'm not really much of a music person despite my love of Toku songs so I wouldn't know how to describe it in detail, but Excite doesn't really "build" right, and the lyrics in the added verse are just kind of alright, which is a big thing for me personally.

I was kind of worried both of these songs would be the same deal but it's pretty much the opposite. I like them WAY more after hearing the full versions, whereas with Excite I felt pretty much the same way as before.
