Hmm... Jeeze it's kinda hard to pick just one, I like the mass majority of "hated" shows in the fandom. ToQger, Goseiger, Go-onger... But I'm gonna go with Kiva! I loved the hell out of. The schlocky romance, the action, the suits, most of the characters. Just, man, I loved Kiva |

Kamen Rider Black RX. It has a really bad reputation for being a silly, lightweight follow-up to the masterpiece that was Black. While it does start off pretty silly, it actually gets really good around the time Robo- and Biorider appear and it really does serve as a good follow-up to Black.

I'd say 555 for myself. The show without a doubt has issues, but I think it's honestly really fun and entertaining to watch, and the issues the show has doesn't lessen the stuff they get right [spoiler]Delta's introduction, Yuka's death (to name some)].

So adding to my pick Sazer-X, the actors who were the heroes played these roles years later in sentai and rider shows: Ryosuke Takahashi - Takuto Ando/Lio Sazer: Yamagata(guest character in episodes 6, 7 of Kamen Rider Wizard) Gaku Shindo - Ado/Eagle Sazer: Barizorg(Gokaiger villain) Ryosuke Miura - Caine/Beetle Sazer: Momose(guest character in episodes 10, 11 of Kamen Rider Decade), Ankh (Kamen Rider OOO) Hiroshi Matsunaga - Shark/Shark Sazer: Amagi(guest character in episodes 16, 17 of Kamen Rider Drive)

I'm not sure if this counts but I'll go ahead and say Keitai Sousakan 7. It has a cool premise, fun characters, and is overall a really fun show that really tugs at the heartstrings. The ending was... unsatisfying but that does nothing to change the fact that its a really good show overall.

I'm on the tail end of my first Wizard watch right now, and I have to agree. Even if the plot is really minimal for most of the show, the cast is surprisingly engaging. Heck, even Shunpei is endearing once you cast past his initial overplayed clumsiness in the first few episodes. My sister says she has big complaints about the fact that the wizard villains are wholly ineffective at being a threat in any way, but I actually find that to be pretty funny. So yeah, I have to say I like Wizard based on the 40-something episodes I have seen so far.

				 | Quote: Power Rangers Turbo. Cheesy, with bad acting, with hammy villains, and that same classic PR charm. It was everything that people admire about classic PR and Zeo. Yet, somehow, this series is somehow treated as the worst of the worst. It really disappoints me, considering that the cast is infinitely stronger once the changeover, it revels in it's fun and silliness, and it had one of the most dramatic climaxes in the franchises. In all honesty, I'd rather watch Turbo over Zeo or Lost Galaxy. It was a breath of fresh air, finally reaching the point where all MMPR holdovers (Sans Bulk and Skull) were now gone, and the cast had a chance to establish new relationships and characters all their own. Turbo isn't a good series, but honestly, I wouldn't call Power Rangers a good franchise. I just wish people would take Turbo for what it is, rather than "The show between Zeo and In Space." Do I like Turbo? I'm somewhere in the "No-to-Maybe" category! Quote: Maybe? I figured the "Fiveman or some s***" remark would make it clear, but don't take the shows I listed there too seriously. The only real point I was making was how the Sentai fandom seems to change up its favorite punching bag every few years. I don't think I've seen Gaoranger actually be called the worst, but the consensus seems to be that it's okay at best, which, coming off a straight decade of amazing shows, and right before cult classics like Hurricanger and Dekaranger (the "cult" part is arguable even), that always sounded like a huge insult to me. Oh, definitely. Turbo really owned its cheese-factor, even if most of that is thanks to the Carranger footage forcing them to. Need I remind people: Ninninger's mecha action in particular is actually another thing I love about it. The fact that every component of Shurikenjin got its own physical prop is just so cool to me in this age of CG Sentai mecha. I do agree with the Shurikenjin thing! Quote: Hmm... The schlocky romance, the action, the suits, most of the characters. Just, man, I loved Kiva My personal choices are Changeman and Go-Busters! Changeman literally surprised me than I assumed it would, cause previously it just felt like a "Blip on the Screen" series! Go-Busters is mentioned because it failed and some people seem to think it doesn't fit the traditional Sentai mold, but I think any differences add to its charm as opposed to taking anything away! Granted, it's hard to see such suits interacting with spandex everyone knows and loves, but the series and its story and characterization were, by and large, tops! The ending was dramatic, but felt mismanaged and disjointed! I also like Ohranger for the most part, which had many a problem! P.S.: Ohranger is available at the time of this posting on Shout Factory TV: http://www.shoutfactorytv.com/series...entai-ohranger Last edited by TokuKnight89; 09-30-2017 at 01:52 AM.. |
