I really like the look of the mecha toys and the way they work. I don't know if I'll be collecting them, but they're literally the first ones since I started following Sentai four years ago or so that have been even halfway tempting. I also really like the gimmick of the RyuSouls being able to form different heads for KishiryuOh...so I'm mildly annoyed that all the extra random RyuSouls appear to have the exact same head mold, from the looks of things. Guess the best one can hope is that they at least have different paint apps (if they're painted at all, given how barebones the knight modes are compared to the ranger's souls). Then again, if they were all unique that'd make the DX line that much more tempting, and who needs to spend all that money. Still, hope we don't have to wait until march to see what KishiryuOh looks like using those extra souls as heads, anyway. |

IT does look better than I expexted also. It does seem to be lacking paint though....but nicely designed...like the guns....I mean "lasers" on it.

The mecha? We don't have a full rundown. It looks like it's mostly parts-forming: the turrets, drills, and dino head all appear to be detachable. (The dino head fits onto the end of an arm in one of its configurations.) I'm not sure where the tail goes, but I'm guessing it folds into the torso. Plugging stuff into the different Lego-like ports appears to be the primary mechanic, and is one of the main ways the configurations are different from one another. All of them so far involve the Ryusoul being inserted backward into the neck, with the head facing forward. Each revealed mecha form can have a different head based on the Ryusoul used. The pink, blue, black, and green mecha appear to all be able to separate into two or more parts to give different forms more versatility. It doesn't look like there are any electronics, so the selling points here appear to be the versatility of parts-swapping. |

Looks like you flip the Ryuusoul open, then plug it feet-first into the head of the changer. I still haven't seen the reverse side of the Ryuusoul's legs, so I don't know if different Ryuusouls produce different sounds. (If so, there'd probably be a bump-pattern similar to the back of Drive's Shift Cars. It's likely.) It looks like sounds and light play; I don't know whether that's immediately after plugging in the widget or whether you have to press the red button to cause it. My guess is that the button both releases the helmet and prompts sounds. The metal jaw rotates around on a hinge at the back of the head so it becomes a helmet for the dino-head.

Have the preorders for the first wave of mecha been and gone now? I'm in the UK and wondering the best/cheapest way to get hold of them
