Up to episode 12 of Beetleborgs, and now my nostalgia goggles have fizzled out the show's obvious flaws are beginning to be a bit clearer.
Conundrum hit it right on the head when he said that the mansion monsters take the centre stage far too often. More often than not they seem to be the main focus and the actual monster is the side-story. I don't honestly dislike the characters, but I do wish there was less of them. Being derived from a comic book the show also suffers many of the problems present in the MMPR redux. The panel jumping is fine because it fits really well, but the Adam West Batman style sound effects popping up over the B-Fighters footage never look good. I'm still have a lot of fun with it though, much more fun than I had with Masked Rider. Out of Saban's adaptations this is definitely the one that seemed to be aimed at younger audiences. It's really made me want to flesh out my figure collection too - Gargantis and the Beetle AVs especially.

I want to watch MMPR again. I'll get to some tonight, even if it isn't a lot. I saw your going to watch Time Force, I hope you enjoy. I am hoping I enjoy it, I'll watch another episode tonight for sure lol.

MMPR really didn't hold up. I couldn't make it through S1 before dropping it...
But Time Force episode 1 was pretty nice. I can see myself still enjoying it.

I dropped Time Force with episode 1 when I was younger but MMPR, I always enjoyed it more with Tommy. He was my favorite for different reasons. I enjoyed the show more when he came back as White Tiger Ranger (I am sure no one could of guessed that with my name lol)

But Kimberly had obvious character traits and a personality (A vapid "Valley girl" personality, but a personality nonetheless).
Kat kind of just...Stood there.

Currently watching Jungle Fury, considering this is either not talked about or hated by Power Rangers fans, I really like it, it's certainly better than GekiRanger (in my opinion).
Sure Jungle Fury's story telling is kinda clunky, but it has a great cast, great character arcs and the characters all bounce off of one another really well. |
