Alright, I think I put this off for long enough so here goes. Guncannon109's top 11 episode of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic! Why top 11? Because I just couldn't narrow it down just ten!
Now for this I will be lumping all two parters into one episode, just so they don't take up half the list. Keep in mind that this is strictly opinion based and if your favorite episode isn't on here then by all means, make your own list. Also, to avoid spamming the forum I will be posting each number one at a time over the course of the next few days. Now then, with out further a due... let's jam! Number 11: Sisterhooves Social ![]() Sisterhooves Social is the fifth episode of the second season and the thirty-first episode overall. The episode follows Rarity and Sweetie Belle who have a crisis in their relationship and it reaches its limits when Rarity has to look after Sweetie Belle for the week while their parents are away. Let me just say that for the longest time I absolutly hated the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I found them to be absolutely annoying as all hell and hated when I reached an episode that focused on them. Though I did reach an episode that made me change my mind about them... Sisterhooves Social was that episode. I swear this episode is probably one of the best examples of sibling relationships in animation history. Having two siblings myself I can say that it can get rather stressful and its not always “siblings = bestest friends forever!” that you sometimes see in movies and television... or see with Applejack and Applebloom in this episode. Now while that does happen occasionally, I find that the former is more common then the latter. Not all conflicts need to be big conflicts. That said I can say that anyone who has ever been a sibling will not only recongnize the conflict in this episode, but will relate to it one hundred percent. Sure the ending is a bit cliche, but it is still genuine and really I can't think of a better one. Sisterhooves Social, it made me love what I thought I hated. Oh man, Sisterhooves Social is an amazing episode. It showcases the sibling rivalry excellently and has awesome moments from every episode. Easily one of my favorites. I liked that they didn't force any one character to be an antagonist in the episode. While Rarity was more of one, it did well enough to show that siblings clash, and, more often than not, neither one party is entirely to blame.
Also, interesting that Sisterhooves was what won you over to the CMC (Like I said, they'll always win you over...Eventually ![]() Aping your idea, though, I'd have to say my 10th favorite episode was Secret of My Excess. It was the kind of episode Spike needed and it was a rather touching one. The moral of giving vs. receiving wasn't too heavy handed and the antics of controlling Spike was fun. Spike admitting his crush was a touching moment, Rarity choosing the Fire Ruby over her life on the basis that Spike was the one who gave it to her (Note: Rarity didn't know the dragon was Spike and no one else could hear her. Everything she said in that moment was the truth) was heartwarming and the episode overall was a mix of smiles, action, and heartwarming moments. Spike isn't the most popular of characters, but it was a massive step up from the typical Spike story of "He's just a baby" being the driving point (Like in Dragon Quest or Owls Well that Ends Well).

Yeah, I like Secret of my Excess too... but as for what number ten actually is, you'll just have to wait and see. |

Number 11: Sisterhooves Social
Alright I just want to get this one out of the way because it might stir up some controversy. Number 10: Suited for Success ![]() Okay, honestly do I even have to summarize this one? I mean come on, this is one of the most popular episode in the entire series... I still have to give the episode breakdown? Okay fine. Suited For Success is the fourteenth episode of season one. In this episode, Rarity wants to make party dresses for her friends for the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala, but has trouble satisfying all their requests. As a designer myself, I know for a fact that you can't please everybody and the solid fact that there are people that are just hard to work with. I know that wasn't the message in Twilight's letter at the end of the episode, but hey that's what I got out of it. As many people say, this is a really good episode with lessons that you don't normally get upon the first viewing especially for a kids show, it was the first appearance of many stables of the series and... Yeah I know what you're thinking “Why is it only Number 10?” Well to be honest, the episode has one major issue. Why was Rarity rushing herself to get everything done in one day when the Grand Galloping Gala isn't for another twelve episodes? Yeah sorry to say but that one little thing makes the entire conflict and rush of the episode kind of... unneeded. Unless there was some reason that I missed. I'm not saying that Suited for Success is a bad episode, it just has one little thing that keeps me from calling it a great one... I'm going to go hide from the fan boys now where they can never find me! Last edited by guncannon109; 06-29-2013 at 12:03 AM.. |

>65 episodes
>Suited for Success is top 10 How could anyone be angry? It's one of my all time favorite episodes. Rarity's generosity shines through (Creating 11 dresses, one being a suit of armor). And it was Rarity's own ambitions that drove her to get the dresses done so quickly.
