Then again I try to avoid as much behind the scenes stuff as I can as it can often impact your opinion on a show unnecessarily.

Oh great... The Name of the Doctor was accidentally leaked by being released on Blu-Ray too early in the US. >_<
Time to avoid any and all Doctor Who threads on forums and image sharing sites...

The new designs are really nice for me. They're more futuristic, but their blank faces are probably my favorite feature. Even if they aren't as good as Classic Cybermen, they're leagues ahead of RTD's Cybermen, who, forgive me, are simply pathetic.

Being better than the RTD ones isn't a difficult task though
![]() I have no problem with their looks, I like the way they look. I just think every power they demonstrated in the episode took away the little bit of humanity they're supposed to have left. Anyone who watched that episode and didn't know what Cybermen were could easily mistake them for being purely robotic.

I guess they felt the need to make them OP given how much of a joke they've been since the relaunch. There were certainly better ways to go about it though.
We also seem to have come full circle. The Borg from Star Trek clearly took some cues from the original Cybermen but now the Cybermen feel like a knock off Borg ![]()

So, finally back up. Yay! On Nightmare, it was a good episode that went downhill quickly. The plot was strong, and it would have worked with another monster, but with Cybermen it doesn't feel right. They feel too Overpowered, and as if they have strayed away from what they were. I liked the Golden ticket weakness, but they even changed the explanation of that! I know this could sound whiney, but I feel like I have to say it. The Cybermen were always Humans in Suits. This episode removes both those aspects, with the Doctor being taken over, despite his biology being completely new and incompatible, even though Mr Clever was the best part of the episode, and the Cybers are just too powerful. I can see software problems being fixed, yes, but not that quickly and that's without coming on to how they somehow insulated themselves. That's metal they're changing. Add that to the fact that they can now remove parts of their HUMAN body and it really bugs me.
