Something that absolutely pisses me off is when I burn through 50+ Ultra and Super Balls, 10 Timer Balls, all my Specialty Pokeballs, and then I catch a Legendary in a normal Pokeball.

Anyway, I've never had a Shiny Pokemon that I actually used. The Oddish just kinda...Sat, the Quagsire I encountered in the Great Marsh was just something nice to look at in my box, and the Magnemite I used to have had the wrong nature (Lowered Sp. Atk, raised Atk), making it a tad useless.

If there were 2 Pokemon I'd kill for a Shiny, it'd be Milotic and Volcarona.

Lucy was my only Shiny hatch. My shiny catches, however-

Ru/FR/LG/Em- My friend captured a Shiny Geodude and traded it to my Fire Red, it is/was a Golem now (not sure which game it's in now)
D/P/Pl/HG- On two separate days in my Japanese Pokémon Diamond, I captured- Surskit, and Poliwhirl. Both are now fully evolved, with Poliwhirl as a Politoed. In my English Diamond, I fished a Female Red Gyarados.

Dang. When I caught Reshiram I only had 4 Premier Balls (I wantend to put him in a Premier Ball since it's white) and the first 2 failed, then the third one worked.

I have NEVER in all my years encountered a shiny anything besides the red Gyrados in Gold/HeartGold. My only other shinys are the beast trio from that one event a while back and the hacked Deoxys WhiteRanger gave me.

I flipped my shit when I encountered the Shiny Quagsire, since it's in the Great Marsh, Sinnoh's Safari Zone. I was about to have a flashback to that Shiny Duskull until I caught it in one try.
Shiny Oddish, on the other hand, I didn't really care for. I just caught it because it's still a shiny.

I really haven't encountered anyone else aside from those 4.

The one shiny I remember getting away from me was a Gold Magikarp in Fire Red. Freaking Safari Zone

I believe I caught one or two shinies before, but I never really paid much attention to shinies. Usually for rare Pokémon like that I just lock them up in my PC.

Ooh shiny discussion! I've hatched a shiny before. I was actually breeding Growlithe for natures at the time. And around only the 20th egg, surprise surprise, it came out shiny. I flipped. Well, that's my only random hatch shiny. I tried breeding for a shiny Scyther. I ended up with 7 boxes of Scyther(about 210 of them) and no shinies. (>_<)

As far as random encounter shinies, one of them got away from me. Way back in Silver version, I was in the bug catching contest. I encountered a shiny Weedle. At the time, I didn't realize what a shiny was, so I thought the little sparkle animation was just in my head or something. I ran away from it in favor of winning the contest. I got so mad at my past self after I realized what I had done.

I did catch a random shiny Buizel once. And once when I was going through victory road in Diamond, I accidentally forgot to use another repel very close to the exit. The FIRST pokémon I run into? Shiny Golbat.

And then as for non random, I chained quite a few shinies with the Pokéradar. And then I made a whole bunch of shinies with the random number generator thing in Diamond. It's a wonderful exploit if you ask me. Makes whatever egg you get next into a shiny and requires no outside hacking like Action Replay or Gameshark or w/e.

I've been quite lucky when it comes to catching shines. Over the various generations I've caught

Gold - Butterfree and Golbat (both lost when the battery died)
Ruby - Koffing (Traded for a Deoxys)
Diamond - Machop
White 2 - Skitty

Then I've also got the red Gyarados from Gold, Crystal and SoulSilver, and event legendary beasts. Oh, and a Luxray that I got in a trade somehow

the only shiny i came across in the wiled is a gulpin on my german ruby and the red garados on my gold and on my german crystal and heart gold and soul silver and thats it.

My first shiny was a Lotad in Emerald

In pearl. Gastrodon east ( which looks exactly the same as the normal one), Kricketune and Psyduck are the only legitimate shinies I can remember catching. I have a few hacked shinies I got off a friend as well. My favourite is the Mothim I got traded.
