What makes Lauren significant outside of being the first proper female Red? Wes is the best for being an actually interesting character with a good plot-line and chemistry with his team.
I hated how they handled the female Red plotline. In Shinkenger, it was an actual point of drama, she had a good reason to take over and there was a real reason for Takeru to feel like his life was meaningless because of Kaoru's arrival. In Samurai, the whole things was a joke. There was no reason for Jayden to leave, let alone for his team to act like jerks about it and Jayden just came off as big sook that was just doing things because he was a drama whore, hell, he even left voluntarily, Lauren asked him to stay! It was so stupid. You can't take out the reason why everything is happening but then make the characters act like it was there. Last edited by Starscream Gaga; 07-26-2013 at 08:14 AM.. |

So did they not do the Kagemusha plot in Samurai?
Edit: Well, I watched OhRanger episodes 13-24 and my god this show is not horrible, but the ranger cast is just so uninteresting and mediocre. There is nothing to like about ANY of them, even in their own episodes. Sure, there are series where maybe only half of the rangers have any development, but even OhRed has not had anything to develop his character outside of gaining RedPuncher, but that doesn't tell me anything about him. This show feels a lot different than what I thought it was when I first watched it 9 years ago, and I'm not sure if it is because I have seen a lot more Sentai series since then or what. Lauren was Jayden's secret sister who had been in training, so Jayden left, despite every other character, including Lauren, asking him to stay because he would "distract the team" or some BS like that. It was unbelievably stupid. They wanted to do the Princess plot, but didn't want to actually have justifiable character drama.

Watched Gobusters episode 9, AHH i love it when the protagonists of a story outsmart the villains to the point of them having a small break down.

After seeing the new villain and upgrade, I'm interested in giving Kyoryuger another go, I gave up around ten episodes ago (about 11 or 12 anyway), is there anywhere worth jumping into in those ten episodes or is a waste of my time?
And before someone says 'the whole show is amazing!' my dislike for the show was that they made a one note gag and built a whole episode around it, I'm asking if the show actually properly starts telling a story and progressing its characters in those ten or so episodes that have aired after I got fed up. Because if the show is still a one line gag and some violence then meh.

As much as I love Kyoryuger, honestly the show hasn't changed much from where it started off, if at all. If you didn't like it at the start I doubt you'll change your mind now.

What!! The show has changed quite a bit. We have had KyoryuGold, Violet, and Gray appear in all of these episodes. Plus, we had plot development, character development between Ian and Aigaron, development with some of the villains, etc.

Reading summaries I was thinking of jumping from episode eleven to episode sixteen because it sounds like the plot starts there.

So I watched episode sixteen. After watching so much Kamen Rider, I felt about like this during the fight scenes
![]() Still, pretty much everything I disliked about the show was still there. Although it didn't actively insult its audience, it was fairly uninteresting that Ian wanted to revenge for his friend, then Souji went 'get over it' and then Ian went 'okay' and then that was the end of all emotional connection. Plus the Deboss Legion are like the worst villains of all time, I'd rather eat rusty nails than every hear Canderilla's song so the fact the episode opened with that shit almost made me exit out straight away. Hell the show seems to even actively know all the Commanders suck and close to points it out. If you know the Commanders are shit, make them good... don't revel in it. Also, last I watched KyoryuGold sucked because he was overpowered and completely threw off the initial almost zen balancing of the team that made them so fun to watch, so I've no idea what happened over the five episodes I skipped but now he just seems like a complete spare part, awkwardly slotted and forced in in unnatural ways one moment and the next just as awkwardly standing in the background.
