There are so many varieties, aren't there? It's simply fascinating.

Is anyone else watching Nobnuaga the fool?
we're slowly starting to get more mechs in the show. The latest one to show up is basically a mechanized Son Goku. and I don't mean Goku as In dragon ball I mean Goku as in the Monkey King. |

Forgot to mention that I finished Panty & Stocking last night. Those last three episodes were freaking insane. Hilarious, but insane. It is also the first show in a while to leave me not screaming at the screen for its ending even though it was a cliff hanger. Either it is because I'm too stunned in disbelief or it is the fact that it is making a mockery of those types of endings, but I enjoyed it. The best episode of the series is still the Transformers one.

Zeta Gundam: New Translation: Heir to the stars
Damn that's a long ass title. The first 20 minutes of this movie has some insane pacing. Oh, hey here's our protagonist Kamille, and he's now in a Gundam with Char, and now his mom's dead, and his dad's in a mobile suit and he's dead too and Kamille's dad was in a love affair..... wait WHAT? I swear these first 20 minutes had such a fast pace that I was only figured out what was going on in the last scene in the middle of the current scene. The assault on Jaburo had a lot better pacing though with Bright coming back in another white base. I don't mind the Titans as villains but the movie seemed really terrible at explaining them. From what I understood before looking it up on the wiki, the Titans were the Earth Federation that had some Zeon ideas, gone rogue. They eliminate 3 "major" villains during this movie but I never felt anything for them as they didn't have any development. Kamille is interesting but he doesn't have any development, let alone establishing his character. He's pretty much the Newtype that has a tendency to hurt anyone that pisses him off, but more in a childish way. And he has a cute girlfriend. I like the design of the Mark II Gundam a hell of a lot more then the original, as its bulk and sleek panel designs along with its coloring make its black and white pop out more. Rather then having the bland "American" color scheme of the original. The use and transition to new footage is super weird. I couldn't tell the transition happened in the original movies because the series and movies were made so close together. Since Zeta came out in 1985 and this movie came out in 2005, the transition is a lot more obvious. Along with the use of new footage being interspersed randomly at points. For example, there's a scene where Char is talking to a guy in a control room and its new fooatge. Char walks out the door and it switches to original Zeta footage as he's talking with Kamille. Then, they both walk down a hallway and its new footage again! |

HeartCatch Precure episode 8:
It was pretty good. I love the strong sense of continuity this show has. It's easily one of HeartCatch's strongest points. However one thing does bother me, and that's the stock footage. Tsubomi and Erika are all angry and serious, then their transformation stock footage is all happy. Surely, they could've animated a serious one as well. ANyway, it's nice to see some actual powers. Also, Erika said they're in middle school...but they're 14, I thought they were high school freshmen...in fact I could've sworn they said that in, like episode 2. I also REALLY wish I didn't go on the Precure wiki now, because now I know that Yuri isn't dead...yes I kind of knew that already, but still. She shows up in a scene, and if you didn't know that she's alive, or didn't know Cure Moonlight's true identity, then that's some really nice subtle foreshadowing. So, word of the wise...don't go on wikis, lest you be spoiled on a character's true identity. Oh, and Cobraja was hilarious in his scene. ![]() Episode 9: Hey! Some backstory on Tsubomi and her family! I'll admit, I actually felt pretty sad when she saw the birds, and it reminded her that her parents were never around. Ok, I like Cobraja. He reminds me of Knock Out from Transformers: Prime. Also, I really wish they didn't have the spinning flower at the end of the finisher. It really takes away from the impact of the explosion. It was pretty good, and oh snizzity snap, son! Dark Precure shows up in the next episode!

I did not care for the Zeta movies. In fact, the worst part was, I was the movies before the tv show. I hated the movies so much that I went out and bought the TV version just so I could understand what the hell was going on.

Kill la Kill 15. Didn't Ryuuko start without that glove? That wasn't a part of Senketsu originally right, so why is it such a big deal she gets it back?
After so many of the major battles in this series have been surprisingly boring, it's so refreshing that whenever Satsuki and Ryuuko clash the budget seems to ramp up and we actually get a satisfying clash of super powered clothing. This episode, was no different. The new designs for Satsuki's generals are gorgeous as well, but as I've expressed before I just don't find them particularly interesting. Ryuuko is like my favourite anime protagonist ever, definitely got a major crush going on over here~ But I really do like how Ryuuko is balanced by someone else who is just also as strong and badass. That mind sound like a weird comment, but I notice a LOT in anime that the protagonist embodies raw power and so they always try and balance them with a villain who embodies something different. But it creates much more interesting viewing to see two characters clash, who are just as good on equal things. As ever though, the careful balance in this show seems to be teetering closer and closer to fully collapsing in on itself. I dunno, the fact this arc tried to widen the story to the whole world highlighted just how silly this EXTREMELY silly show is. The school city at least functioned as its own pocket universe, with its own reality, so I could buy into that but this was all very silly, with Satsuki and her family advancing, trying to takeover the world with clothing (?!) and destroying anything in their way. It certainly didn't help that a lot of this episode was humourless. About the only real gag in this episode was "Nudist Beach? That is a stupid name!" YEAH BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE AROUND HERE ISN'T?! I really wanted to get invested in it, the concept of fear vs money, the epic battle between sword wielding badass chicks on the backdrop of a burning city but we've lurched from comedy into all out shounen melodrama without any real context, build up or proper transition. The tones clash harder in this show than the swords do, and maybe that is part of the charm, but all I've got is whiplash.

She did start without it, however without the glove she can't feed Senketsu her blood at a rate which won't cause her to pass out with fatigue quickly.
