To be honest, I hated the Kabuki episodes when I first saw them 10 years ago. Then when I watched them again after learning about Kabuki and No theater, I really enjoyed them. It is also why I enjoyed Ryuunosuke in Shinkenger even though he does still get on my nerves occasionally.

Dairanger 17. Kibaranger is some perverted brat? Oh man, suddenly the idea of Genta doesn't seem so bad... Not that Shouji was much better, as much of a dick as Kou is, heroes shouldn't threaten to beat up children.

Those Priestess things sure looked crappy. Although I can't tell if they were more naff than when a random old man and kid just rode up, ended the action scene and then left.

It makes me laugh how much Kaku is like Zordon, at least in the being the dick department. 'Oh I have important information, but oh well I'll keep it to myself unless the Dairanger's bring it up, doodeedoo.' ASSHOLE.

Dairanger 18. They did such a good job of making Kou feel like a real kid, whether it was him actually feeling emotions, and not just charging into battle or enjoying his powers. Seeing him work with the sword is really fun as well.

It's just a shame that his actual powers kinda suck, he has like...his own band...or something? What does that have to do with his theme? And does anyone wanna explain the talking sword? Or why it can give him an adults body? Guess not...

Wow, this episode made me hate the core Dairangers even more. Pretending to be the kids dead Mum what the FUCK. And Ryou of all people is really the only one who had issue with this? It's actually completely out of Daigo's character to go along with this shit.

If that kid and the old guy can jump cut anywhere on the planet, why does he need a cart? And if he will use a vehicle, why does he use a cart when the other three Gorma fellows drive around in cars?

Dairanger 19. Kibaranger is my favourite character in this show. I love how they've handled Kiba, making him really interesting to watch and discover but also constructing him in that fashion that every kid will be fighting over who gets to be him in the playground.

But then the Kou side is handled just as well, Kou being a kid doesn't just feel like some cheap novelty, he genuinely feels like a child. I'm just really impressed how well they've handled a character that could have easily gone horrible wrong.

Shouji's showdown with the ring priestess was pretty fun as well, even if I don't really care about Tenmaranger as a character (I may as well count him as his own character because him and Shouji are so totally different).

Yes, it is amazing at how well they wrote Kou, as being a kid, he could have gone really bad. Fortunately, they treated him like a child, wrote him like a child, so it all worked. And the only reason he turns into an adult-ish (still not quite there) body when tenshined is to hide his identity for being a kid.

If nothing else, I'm taking my hat off to Dairanger for being able to write characters other than men. Usually in sentai women and children come off as what men think women and children are like, and it isn't a true representation at all, but here the characters seem to be truly understood by the writers.

Watched More of Gokaiger, episodes 27-29 and really love this whole team and loved the Abaranger and Jetman tribute episodes. Black Condor is really badass. Need to watch more of this, I watch it with my friends.

Dairanger 20. The episode where Dairanger became Wizard for a bit, luckily Kou didn't give into despair, so maybe now he can become a Wizard. When Shouji is the voice of reason, you know you have issues.

There was some great action this week, as well. I love seeing the big bad's get involved directly. Also, seeing Kou punch Akoumaru repeatedly in the face was fucking amazing. Still kinda sucks that Kibaranger's power is just a shittier version of Daigo's.

Man I don't get how the Gorma work at all, what the fuck is this hierarchy?

A Hiromu episode telling us more about his school days, it was actually quite heartwarming to see the always serious Hiromu enjoying himself so much.
