Though if I'm gonna be honest, before I saw this episode I forgot about the upcoming Gavan crossover, and half expected for there to be a preview for Kyoryuger at the end.

Decade was always indented to end at episode 30 to begin with.

Metalder got its episode order cut down. I've heard the same thing happened to Kamen Rider Stronger.

This is true actually. Inoue confirmed it sometime ago in a magazine interview that only 30 episodes were ever planned. It's early ending wasn't really such, seeing as it was intentional. They just didn't plan accordingly for a shorter story.
