Don't listen to the purists. The arguments they're using now for hating the new Trek films are the same ones used for The Wrath of Khan years back, and that one has been declared a classic over time.

First Star Trek, now Power Rangers. It's like Bob Orci is targeting me personally.

This man is a menace. He doesn't understand the most basic storytelling tenets. He is known for being a Hollywood yes-man and a studio executive stooge--I'm not exaggerating when I say his reputation in Hollywood is that he never turns down a studio note. As such, he has never written or produced a remotely good movie (let alone a faithful adaptation), even by accident. Seriously, look at his IMDB--it's a wasteland. Star Trek is as close as it gets, but those movies have tremendous structural problems--the enjoyment factor comes purely from JJ Abrams and his candy-colored, blockbuster remix of the original series' style (and the casting).

And this is all before factoring in his status as a prominent, looney toons, "9/11 Was An Inside Job," truther. He literally believes there are weaponized blackhawk helicopters hiding inside the UN building, waiting to take over the US by force. He's a capital N-U-T nut.

All hopes for an intelligent, coherent, or fun adaptation of the material is lost. Get ready for a boatload of idiocy, everyone.

But really, what else did we expect from Saban Entertainment?

Credible does not mean good.

Being negative is not my thing. And for Orci "not understand the most basic storytelling" he did a good job on Fringe, Sleepy Hollow, and Transformer Prime. I'm looking at him as a good producer/writer for the PR movie not what he does in his free time. He can believe in Aliens for all I care. Also he will be a "yes-man" for Saban and Lionsgate. Should he revolt against them? Be confrontational with Saban?

People should wait before saying the movie is doom. People thought Godzilla 2014 was going to suck, but it end up getting better reviews and a opening weekend then people thought it would.
