The biggest problem with the competition arc is that they are all repetitive. A guest humagear was hired for the competition, the Zaia representative gets jealous and tries to sabotage by using Raidriser, the Humagear goes berserk, Thouser beats them AND Zero-One, and then they beat the evil human. Every, single, time. Yes the lawyer episode provided a twist in that the Zaia lawyer is a red herring, but it sucks to see the same thing repeated over and over for three times.

It's saying something when this 2-parter which is taking a break from the competition arc and felt a bit like a filler, feels more refreshing.

This dialogue is great:

Fuwa: "So you all just bow down to the will of the Ark? Pathetic."

Horobi: "Aren't you the same?"

And then the confused Fuwa tries to make sense of it by figuring that Horobi meant his job working for AIMS and by proxy, ZAIA. But we all know what Horobi actually meant. It's pretty obvious at this point. Something happened to Fuwa, presumably when he used the Assault Trigger. The clues are all there: him getting used to its side effects, his migraines when seeing the hooded figure and the disappearance of the hooded figure after he confronted them in the warehouse. I hope we find out what exactly happened soon and I feel like we will with Jin supposedly returning next episode and Horobi escaping.

The rest of the episode was great and felt like a proper plot episode. I loved seeing all the Humagear from the first arc of the show return and a great explanation for how Aruto gains control of Metal Cluster Hopper form. When was the last time we got an episode making a new weapon relevant to the story? Enji Matsuda fooling Gai was awesome and the fight at the end was incredibly cathartic. Aruto kicking Gai's ass legitimately was a highlight of the show so far.

And that presumably leads us into Rampage Vulcan? Kinda fitting for the name too. Altho, I wish Bou (the hooded figure) was their own character and soon becomes a rider. Maybe a Spider-themed rider.

I'm all for Rampaging Vulcan at this point, but it is cute how they solved Metal Cluster Hopper's problem. It was the perfect karma jackpot and both the characters and audience knows it
