HeartCatch 27:
The writing was off this episode. That guy said he was focusing on his training and not relationships, then Tsubomi's grandmother says "I remember my first love" Okay? and Tsubomi's grandma just randomly left the mountain after getting lonely, and Sora just randomly gave her a music box? Also, Tsubomi's grandfather looks a lot like Bishie Samurai-Pants...hmmmmm...

And D-Frag ended too, I found it to be very enjoyable, the comedy was great and everything, no matter how kundane was treated in the most over the top way possible, adding to the humor.
The main cast was cool, but there were also a fair amount of pointless characters, but I suppose that if they make a sequel they'll explore them more. Overall, it always managed to give me good laughs so it served it's role. |

DO YOUR HOMEWORK KIDS!!! Oh...Coffret is going to be on the toilet, er jar for days. O_O I mean, it was a blatant "Do your homework" moral episode, but it was cool to see the Precures fight a horde of Desertians. It makes me feel bad for procrastinating so much. ![]() OKAY I'M SORRY COBRAJA!!! I'LL DO MY HOMEWORK!!!

I found the fact that Cobraja planned so far ahead to be absolutely mindblowing, the desert apostles are esentially oprtunists, but Cobraja took it to the next level, he would be incredibly dangerous if he focused more often. |

Any other current season anime worth checking out? In a blink I realised I'm actually almost completely caught up with this show and by the time I do that I'll probably also be watching the last episode. And after watching this show, I have hope for anime again.
Kill la Kill 18. Only in a show this consistently insane, can a twist like this actually work so well. Kill la Kill may not have been the best anime I've ever watched, but when it works it REALLY works. And that says a lot, as I don;t usually like it when silly shows suddenly go all dark and brutal, but damn. Plus man the action this week was AMAZING. I just think Ryuuko is great, massive crush over here, but I also think it's handled really well too. It'd be so easy to make someone as powerful as Ryuuko boring, but somehow she's always brilliant to watch because this is just such an insane show. There are some parts of this show which I feel just a little too juvenile in the "edgy" department, though, and this was especially true of this episode as the focus really shifted onto Ragyou. I hate pretty much everything about Satsuki's mother, not because of the intentional stuff, but because it appears in an otherwise pretty intelligent show, she was written but a horny 14 year old who has never left their house. And somehow her juvenile, gratuitous immaturity seems to rub off on the immediate show around her. How do we defeat Satsuki? Let's have her Mum rub her crotch, making the fourth incestuous moment so far, because mmm incest, so damn sexy! Just no.

Let's have her Mum rub her crotch, making the fourth incestuous moment so far, because mmm incest, so damn sexy! Just no. There's more of that in Japanese animation than you'd think. Current ones worth checking out this season are: Attack on Titan Free! Iwatobi Swim Club (If you don't mind slice of life, manservice, and homoerotic undertones.) Outbreak Company (Parody series, if you know about "otaku culture" and are aware of anime tropes, then you'll get a kick out of that show. I loved it. It was the most I've ever laughed when watching a Japanese animated series, but comedy is subjective, so keep that in mind. It may not be your cup of tea.) Not exactly this season: Haiyore Nyaruko-San (I will completely admit that the only reason to watch that show is for the Kamen Rider references, so if you want something that legit has a good story...then maybe don't watch that.) HeartCatch 29 and 30: 29: Not much here, aside from, dude you almost got ran over. I'm sure everyone would understand. 30: I liked this one. Yuri had a lot of good moments here. That was probably the coolest looking Desertian. Also THE BUTT PUNCH IS BACK! ![]() 31: Pretty good, but one major flaw: They just did away with any potential for character development for Sasorina. I really didn't like that, but Yuri got fleshed out more as a character, so I did like that. Dang man...she lost her Fairy, her Heart Flower, and half her heart? Just how much damage did Dark Precure do? Also, that battle music rocked!!!

Already checked out Attack on Titan, the slow pace and a lack of a proper ending made it all feel a little insulting, even if the 3D movement action set pieces were epic and gorgeous and the dark tone was usually decently implemented .
None of your other suggestions really lit my world on fire between, "homoerotic", "subjective comedy" and "no story" ![]() Anything else worth watching right now, or at least recently?

Just checked out the first episode of Yozakura Quartet Hana no Uta. I am also never writing that again.
Quartet has some decent character designs, but the animation is so so. It's very much a show where it hopes its imagination, and style, will distract you from some of the more glaring budget limitations. The sad thing is, a lot of the style is just fanservice. Not as gratuitous as Kill la Kill perhaps, but since all the girls look like children in this it's somehow worse. That said, I have always enjoyed action anime where the characters have a grasp on their powers from the beginning and we're left to catch up, it just makes the action sequences that much more exciting when they don't have to slow down from anyone in the audience they think can't keep up. Storywise there is nothing all that special about the premise, but the show does drop you right in the deep end, which makes the heavy exposition seem not so bad. It's also only thirteen episodes long, and I'd much rather watch a show this short that gets on with it than some 70 episode series with only five episodes where stuff happens. Nothing earth shattering then, but still seems worth another episode or two.
