I'm still glad they translated it, rather than TVN who leave it as RyuuSeiOh or whatever the fuck.

I prefer to have a literal translation, like I don't mind they've left in TenmaRanger, ShishiRanger etc etc because aside from when they call out their names in the roll call, they directly translate what those words mean so I can associate meaning to them.

I've never seen any reason to translate names or proper nouns. RyuuseiOh sounds a hell of a lot better than the mess you mentioned Locke. It's the same complaint I had with OT translating the "Oh" in Go-BusterOh to "King". Rather pointless especially when there was an actual Go-Buster King Later. Names should just be left as names. Otherwise you get into the murky territory of ridiculous things like making Kyoryuzin the very silly "Dinosaur King" or Daibouken becomes "Great Adventurer". It just gets way out of hand and unnecessary.

Also both Dinosaur King and Great Adventurer sound rockin', it's just that Dairanger has such goofy names for everything that it sounds so silly when put in plain English. Star Lords, lol.

I love overtime subs, but I'd prefer if they left the show titles alone "Voltasaur" and "Spec-Ops" don't ring with me to be honest. |
