It breaks the scene when a man in an ugly costume walks in and I'm supposed to take that seriously.
I'm fine with the Batman films being grounded in realism. That was fine. But it took itself too seriously, despite the fact that the very premise is something that isn't. Batman is dark, but he is nowhere near serious, and I feel that attempts to make the character "Serious" backfires and makes him feel more ridiculous as a result.

Everyone mispronounces Ra's Al Ghul, anyway (you need an Arabically conditioned tongue to pronounce it correctly), so it never bothered me.

Watched Elysium. It was okay... the film was overlong and lacked focus, managing to take everything that didn't work about District 9 with very little that did. Sharlto Copley's Agent Kruger was awesome and there were some fun action sequences (although nothing as cool as the mech fight or the lightning gun) but the action was self contained and far between, with the long gaps between the action stuffed with pretentious irony. Look at my social critique, that I spent $200 million on! I could have used this money to help make the world a better place, but CGI!

Just rewatched both Hellboy movies, I still think the first one is better.

Agreed with the previous comments. I think Golden Army is a great movie - I think Prince Nuada was fantastic, but the first is still a better movie.
Why no HB3 yet? ![]() |

Yeah, I'll hop on the "Hellboy 1 is better" bandwagon.
But I adored the designs of some of the monsters in 2 a lot more.

I love the Golden Army itself, thought they were really cool, plus the Tooth Fairies were creepy as hell, and I already mentioned Nuada, Wink was neat as well.

The Golden Army looked pretty cool, too.
