That's just how they package things. They fit everything onto a piece of cardboard than wrap it similarly to a vacuum wrap with clear plastic which generally works in holding the items in place during shipping. I thought their shipping is actually cheaper than say Amiami since Amiami actually stuff the remaining space with paper which probably increases the weight of the overall package.

I'd have to agree there. HLJ has the cheapest shipping I've seen, and often using FedEx is cheaper than EMS if you order a lot.

ThinkGeek just got the 30th Anniversary Voltron in and is running a 30% off of $150 or more of purchases until 2/24 if you use the code ELDRITCH during check out. This brings the $225 Voltron set down to ~$160 before shipping.

Unfortunately using the code negates the free shipping for purchases over $75, but this is still the cheapest I've seen the 30th Anniversary Voltron.

Amazon.com is currently offering the SH MonsterArts Gigan from Godzilla: Final Wars for a reasonable $68.35, the cheapest it's ever been on Amazon and a great consolation prize if you missed out on HLJ's sale price a while back.

EDIT: Sale ended an unknown number of hours ago.

Amiami has a Grade A Birth CLAWS set for a VERY good price at 2180 yen.

I'm pretty sure that's a steal considering I don't see that thing very often.
