Finally watched X-Men: Apocalypse.
It was a wreck, but not a complete piece of crap. I've certainly seen worse super hero films. The movie goes a little quickly and there's a lot to complain about, but eh, I don't really feel up to it.

I liked Cyclops's characterization. I hate his authoritarian attitude from the comics, so seeing him as the punk was different. Nightcrawler is my favorite X-Man, so I just kind of dig any appearance he gets. Wolverine's scene was spot on, and I do quite like McAvoy's Professor X.
Quicksilver's scenes are always great, too.

I don't like Jean Grey and the Phoenix bullshit, though. Jean was an exposition machine (Well, not really exposition, but she'd basically just outline what the plot needs for the cast to do in the next 15 minutes). If they want to set up the Dark Phoenix, here's a quick tip: Don't. It works because is turns our precious little Jean into a villainous super psychic out of the blue. Establishing it basically turns it into a waiting game of "When are they going to botch the Dark Phoenix saga again?"

Anyway, mediocre film, but watchable. 6/10

Just got done the first episode of Iron Fist

It's not bad, but it is off to a very slow start so far.

Okay three and a half episodes in and I can safely say that the critics are full of BS and weren't watching the same show: Iron Fist is great

I'll be watching it tomorrow, but I think the problem is critics are comparing it to the other shows. That's like saying, "I don't like Ghost Rider comics because he's not written as good as Spider-Man." Each show has to be graded on its own merits first and foremost.

So the Venom movie is finally happening next year. I'm surprise that this movie is happening now. If we get Carnage in the same movie, I hope for a R rated film. I doubt that will happen since Marvel and Hasbro will probably want some toys to sell with the movie.

Watched the first 2 episodes of Iron Fist.
Unless the next 4 episodes go downhill fast (As the reviews were based on the first 6), I don't quite get the problems. Episode 2 moved a little quickly, but that's about it...

It's apparently going to be unrelated to Spider-Man: Homecoming.
That's a little problematic, since 3 of it's 4 iconic hosts were all Spider-Man supporting characters, and I doubt they'll use the latest incarnation.

If they do make it a stand alone film/franchise, I hope they do it well. I'm afraid they'll try to come up with an alternate origin to remove Spidey ties, which will just bloat the film and make it clunkier.

Lots of criticism ttowards the show is stuff like bad fighting choreography, Finn Jones not looking the part and generally bad writing "It's me", Danny's a Mighty Whitey, too much company politics, boring villains and stuff

I wonder if they will go for a R rating "if they try to put in Carnage. I know a lot of people are not used to having R rated blockbusters (I remember people bitch about the idea of more R rated comic book movies), but I don't like watering things down if the original characters in the comics are R/M rated.
