Looking at the fan art for the possible sixth train, I think it would have been much better if green was all the legs and blue the body. Maybe...
Either way if the purple train thing turns out to be true, then I think I can dig that. Breaks it up a bit more, rainbow be damned =p |

Your design is very Transformers, and most Transformers combiners don't even think that far. Did you think Bandai would have gone to such an extent?
![]() Besides, it would cause lots of gaps in the train modes, and ruin the rainbow look they were going for. Acceptable sacrifices, perhaps, but likely not to Bandai who is trying to appeal to train collectors too. |

We won't know that unless Bandai actually designed it and we see a prototype. I'm not saying these were the best decisions they could have made, but they must have put some thought into it and prioritized some things over others.

The blue and green trains look similar to the ones used on this guy:
http://www.tfw2005.com/resources/rid...railracer-645/ It's three trains combining into one, but it's still more of a way I'd picture a train combiner over just slapping them all together side-by-side like this new Sentai show does. Like some of have said, maybe people will warm up to it, but right now it's a big 'Maybe'.

I could.
Red could've still been the chest. Only it would've had the front pop off, the rest fold on itself so the sides connected together, and the roof faced forward. Leaving the front of the boiler to become the chest piece as it does now. Green could've still been the leg it is. But the top third would've folded to become half the waist piece, and the rest would've been the leg with the cab becoming the foot. Blue would've done the same. But wouuld've had an extra peice to snap onto the waist and cover the train connections and give him a proper belt/waist. Pink and Yellow would've still been arms. With their fronts folding up to become shoulders, and the hands coming out of the back of the train. And because of the design would've had proper elbow joints. Inexcusable with all that room in those damn things that it doesn't have them now. Lazy. And still could keep the gimmick about different trains becoming different hand weapons. You aren't someone who designs or manufactures toys for small children though. It's easy to describe something without giving real thought to how things translate from concept to reality while at the same time keeping in mind how it stays within whatever budget they have to work with. And elbow joints? What DX toys have you been buying?

I had a thought this morning. Since this robo doesn't have very human proportions, it might mean they're going to rely on a lot of CGI assistance next year. Which scares me (see: whenever they rendered the Gokai Galleon in CG), but also kinda excites me (that was 3 years ago, and Toei has gotten better at CGI, slowly but surely).
Although maybe when we see the actual mech suit -- as opposed to the toy version of it (they're never 1:1 accurate representations) -- the proportions will make more sense. It can't be easy to jam 5 long rectangular boxes into a person-shape. ![]() |

![]() Sentai bots are not meant to be that intricate. It's part of the charm to be blocky and immobile. Yes, recent Sentai designs are more simple than is usual, but Sentai can't go in the opposite direction and become Transformers. Again, your ideas are too Transformer-ish. It'll be better to persuade Hasbro to give it a go than Bandai. Not only would super-articulation and intricate transformations compromise the stability, solidness, playability and price of the mecha, many fans would vehemently oppose them, such as Den-O and I myself. We like our toys to be clicky and solid. Besides those third party toys you listed are not only fragile and meant mostly for display, they also cost about a whole season's worth of Sentai mecha. And you want that for just one robo? ![]() We have plenty of super-articulated robots: Transformers, Soul of Chogokin, etc. Even Sentai has them in SRC and the minipla. The DX could benefit from some articulation but it mustn't go down the path of super-articulation.
