Epic 13.
Honestly I'm kinda glad Megaforce skipped this, this was probably the worst episode of the show so far. Perhaps unsurprising being that it is an Eri focused episode, who finally finds a character, but still manages to be the worst of the Goseigers and the only member of the team I dislike. Also wow Drake came off badly in this episode. Drake's plan failed and Dereputa got killed but rather than kicking it up to the top gear...he just goes back to sending soldiers down one at a time? What an idiot! And with the way he bullies Buredoran, it just makes him appear more incompetent. We are THIRTEEN episodes in! He is easily the worst of the three Warstar generals. And, as ever, the fight scenes are just awesome. Buredoran got involved in the fight! Also the Goseigers are probably the most badass hippies in the history of everything. Although Mystic Brother was so shit, and so was the combination. About the only good thing about the combination is seeing Gosei Great without the wings. It looks a lot better without them. Wasn't Kawaridane just on the tenth episode of Gaim?

I believe so, yes. And I agree with you about Eri (Sorry Suzu), she's the weakest of the team. I don't hate her.. I just wish she was a little better.

It's kinda hard to hate someone who has like no characterisation at all. And I get that episode thirteen tries to add some depth to her, and it's in her personality to kind of just smile and not worry about it but it just makes her unengaging.

This episode makes me sad. Creepox was just a throwaway character in Megaforce with a rocking design. As with many things I just thought that was because of Goseiger but here we really see that there is fallout from his death (even if it isn't taken to as interesting places as it could be, but I peg that down to how poorly realised the Warstar are) and we get a brand new badass because of it - just a shame he only lasted a single episode, but I'd rather swift pace than loads of padding. The only confusing thing is that Satellite (I'm sorry, it's easy to remember the English translations rather than the long chain of Japanese words that are only used once per episode) seems stronger than Drake, yet his motivation is to become his right hand man? And now the Goseigers have beaten him, they are the strongest players on the board now surely? Does this show hate Moune? This show makes her look like a really annoying person to be around. First she had that episode focused on her where she spent it fighting with Eri, and now they're doing the same episode again only with Hyde. It even ended in the same way.

Sometimes it feels like it. But then you look into her eyes and you forget what it was you were mad at in the first place. Cause Moune.

From a narrative standpoint this wasn't great, but from an entertainment spectacle, Drake is so badass! I'm glad the show is back to fucked up super villain plans and making it feel like the whole world really is in danger. Although why does Drake eat the bat thing? Also, he looks way cooler without those gayass wings. Mystic Brother may suck, but seeing Datas get the power to fly up to the mothership and box it made Mystic Brother feel pretty win in my book. Just a shame everything Datas does is so short lived and just acts as a starter before the stacked abomination of Gosei Hyper which looks like absolutely shit. It's amazing that Goseiger can tell a more satisfying story in fifteen episodes, than Megaforce could do in twenty. Next up, those mutant dudes and Gosei Knight! So what is the story behind Goseiger? Why'd the production team decide to have so many villains? If I was to have any complaints, it'd be that shit about football. Why did they pad the episode with kids playing football, again?

This episode was just fantastic. Alata proved to the world why he isn't a shit red - like seriously, even outside of this episode, why so much hate? Sure Alata is a bit of a weirdo but he loves his team, is an incredible fighter, a strong leader and has a huge heart, I can't think of a better Red. He genuinely feels right as the leader of his team (most sentai I have seen, I have thought the team had much better candidates for Red [Daigo, Ryuu etc]), and he always feels like he gets by on strength of character, not colour of suit - Dereputa returned in a fashion truly fitting for a king such as himself and the action was just stunning. Loved, loved, LOVED this episode.

But Alata's happy demeanor and compassionate heart breaths a breath of fresh air between two more serious "traditional" Red senshi, Takeru and Marvelous, who are apparently better just because they're not a happy-go-lucky as the Skyick Power or Storms. Alata's a freaking badass and don't you forget it! |

And now you're approaching Gosei Knight.
I'm curious over your thoughts on him.
