I don't even know if you were talking about DCD. I was just assuming.

If somebody actually rereleases Kabuto subbed, I'll be able to watch it again since the current files seem to be unplayable on nearly every device I own, but I have mixed thoughts towards the series. I thought the first 25ish episodes were great, but then the show started to lose momentum as they kept bringing in new riders and TheBee became a musical henshin device. It didn't help that Tendou was pretty much the same character the entire time, as he never grew. Kagami grew, but not Tendou. However, like 555, it is the show's last 10 or so episodes that really ruin the show for me for it just forgot its main focus and did a mini story arc that ended when the series ended, leaving way too many loose threads.
What are you talking about? Most of the episodes in Ryuki are two episode plots, as are those in Blade and I believe even 555. In fact, I cannot think of any Heisei series that was not mostly 2 episode plots. |

Blade was certainly not a 2 episode plot.

No, most of the episodes in Ryuki are one episode plots that occasionally get solved in the first 5 minutes of the next episode.

We're talking more of the modern style: every other episode we bring in a new monster, new guest stars, and introduce a new main plot arc, usually with very little in the way of ongoing subplots or overarching storylines that run through longer parts of the season. Hibiki started moving towards that trend, but up to then the older shows - especially Kuuga and Agito - had bigger stories that bled through several episodes.

Are you sure Blade was not the 2 episode format? I clearly remember nearly everything being a two parter, whether it be Tachibana having to come to grips to defeat the Zebra Undead, Kenzaki being attacked by the Artificial Undead, to the episode with the two Hajimes being a two parter.
Then again, I haven't watched Blade since 2006, so maybe my memory is skewed. Ryuki, while not every episode is a 2 parter, the majority of them still are. |
