Was I seriously the only guy to buy an Omnimon D-Art?
![]() ![]() (Random pic I had taken yesterday because someone doubted my ownership of both of them on Facebook ![]() Anyway, I don't have a problem with a series focusing on the main 2, but Frontier just took it one step too far. For example, Koichi/Duskmon's entire story was set up as something epic, but then the Darkness Spirit was purified, we saw Lowemon and JagerLowemon a whopping one time, and then Koji got MagnaGarurumon that requires both Darkness Spirits to evolve into. And then he gets curbstomped by Dynasmon and Crusadermon. However, Tamers did do it best, keeping a fair amount of focus on Takato (Though he did get the most, but I don't mind it), Rika, and Henry, while simultaneously keeping Juri important...And Ryo too, I guess... As for Angemon, I prefer Angemon over MagnaAngemon and Seraphimon. Angemon's design is just the best, without being overdesigned or just feeling cluttered or chunky. That, and I love Angemon's Angel Staff. Always thought that was a badass weapon. |

If I had known about the line at the time and had been collecting figures (outside of Marvel Universe) I would have gotten him for sure. I'm happy to be getting Metalgarurumon and a reissuse of Wargreymon, but Omegamon will remain that grail figure until he gets reissued. I think getting a repainted Wargreymon and finally getting Metalgarurumon, plus the SSJ Goku & Megaman X reissues are a good sign. I hope so anyway.. I'd pay $100 for a Japanese only rerelease of Omegaman, it's better than $200-$300.
The Digimon rule of two was a bit intense with Frontier, I guess I just dig the Champion level designs in the series so much I'm biased. Yeah, I'm that kind of person that toy companies love, lol. Tamers was great. I like how it had a slight Sentai feel to it with the group being smaller and there was that vibe of each tamer having it's own identifying color. I'm surprised with the D-Arts Digimon releases so far to be honest, but I guess it's very much any other toy line. Focus on the heavies and their variants. The Champion level designs in any given series have been hit or miss, mostly miss. It's mostly hurt because the main characters' champion level all have the same design elements. It's dull. For others, it's a case by case basis whether I like their champion more than their other forms. Angel Staff was so cool. Don't be wowed so easily by a puny lightsaber he never directly fought with. And I'm not picking up MetalGarurumon, but he does look awesome. A lot better and more accurate than WarGreymon.

It's understandable. I do hope Omegamon gets a re-release. I could use another one.

Not everyone Champion level Digimon is Leomon or Angemon, there are some lame ones. I like a lot of Ultimate level Digimon as well, like Weregarurumon, over the Mega levels. Myotismon is one of my favorites, but his Mega forms are alright. I think it's interesting how the designs arranged some Digimon's evolutions really, some make less sense than others but overall I like most Digimon designs. You've got Omegamon, who cares about MetalGarurumon? lol. Kidding, but really, not picking him up? I nearly missed him, just waiting for BBTS to get him instock now. If I can't have Omegamon, at least I can have WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon on display together. |

I doubt it will happen, but I like to tell myself there are good reasons for why it would, lol. I'll be kicking myself for awhile over missing the one that sold for $50 a couple weeks ago on ebay.

I'm not trying to kick you while down or anything, I'm just confused why'd you pass that up. And I kind of preferred the Ultimates in Adventure (MegaKabuterimon, Garudamon, Zudomon, etc etc), but I preferred the Armors in 02, while Tamers was a lot more of the hit or miss (I liked Growlmon to Wargrowlmon, but Rapidmon over Gargomon, for example). ![]() And I'm still waiting for them to release a Wargreymon that looks closer to the show.

I didn't pass him up, I missed out. I saw him in the completed listings when I was trying to gauge his average auction price. If I had just searched for him a bit earlier I would have seen it but that's just how it goes.
Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel about the levels in the first two series as well. I especially like the armors in season 2 of Adventure. I'm mixed on the DNA levels. Ah I see. I love Garurumon, he's probably my favorite overall from season 1. $40, I wish, lol, BBTS is so pricey.. but I've only recently started collecting Bandai Japan stuff and didn't really know where else to look and missed out. I'm getting the WarGreymon reissue somewhere else for cheaper so that makes up for it I suppose. Is the new Designer edition still that off base? I like it better than the original release and it's good enough for me. I can't see Bandai doing a new WarGreymon mold, do they generally do things like that? |

They do make revised molds, having done so twice in their Kamen Rider Figuart line (And I think they did a remold of X or Zero in D-Arts or something, but I don't follow the Mega Man line, so I'm unsure).
I just don't like how WarGreymon turned out, having really long claws when the original didn't, being gold chrome when the original was matte yellow/gold, and being more hunched when the original had a more straightened posture.

Cool, I didn't realize Bandai did it that often. Is Digimon still a pretty popular line Japan? I really have no clue how well the S.H. Figuarts and D-Arts lines do overall.
I collect the D-Arts Megaman figures and I don't notice any difference between the two Megaman X & Zero figures, but I'm not an expert. I know they did a "comic" version of Megaman X which was a very different looking figure than the regular Megaman X. Ah, I see, thanks for pointing that out. I would down for another WarGreymon, he's a pretty cool Digimon. |

Yeah. They don't release revised molds super often, but they did for Decade and New Den-O, so they could for Digimon and other figures as well.
And I was really disappointed in how the WarGreymon turned out (Though, outside of Omnimon's cape, which was poorly designed, I don't have much issue with the other Digimon D-Arts). ![]() ![]()

I see, the figure doesn't quite the exaggerated proportions of the original, he's more like a humanoid than a monster. I think the figure is pretty cool, but I can see how different it is from the original.
I really like the D-Arts Digimon line as well. I still scratch my head over how poorly Beelzebmon has sold. Maybe it was because Bandai never made his motorcycle and people lost interest. |
